@dowdsmusic & @okain.music. I also had to re-spin @kaialce's beautiful remix of @jankincl & regis kattie because i love it so much 💜

Moving into the second hour we had a guestmix from @katiushadj. This was originally scheduled over a year ago and has been moved several times & i'm so happy we finally got a date to air. She stepped up & provided us with 52mins of pure class ranging from breaks, ambient & some deeper numbers.

So happy to announce that Oscillate Mix # 41 is provided by Katia aka Katiusha. It is a brilliant showcase of Katia’s vast knowledge about the more leftfield crevices of electronic music. The London-born DJ and radio host has established a versatile profile in the Berlin scene since moving here in 2017. Her radio show “Above The Clouds” on Cashmere explores various physical and emotional connections to different cloud formations by soundtracking them with the help of friends and guest DJs. On the other hand Katiusha loves a good rave and can provide an equally fitting soundtrack to your 140bpm+ club experience. Katia has had appearances on NTS radio, Rinse and is a regular guest on various mix series throughout the web. This mix escorts you slowly from the depth and darkness of Koehler’s - Destroying Angels via Lurka’s bass-heavy - Clean to faster landscapes provided by Heritage and Sibilant. The last third of the mix briefly dives deeper into funkier club sounds, swings back to the body shaking Ctrls Remix of Anastasia Kristensen’s - Volshebno only to land smoothly in the safe arms of Jex Opolis’ - Instant Ocean. Making Waves is back, and this time it is @katiushadj's turn to jump on the decks and prove why we should most definitely keep our ear to the ground. Full of techno and electro, going from 135bpm to 155bpm, she introduces her to her universe, effortlessly switching between genres and bpm.

London-born Katia Mullova started off in the electronic music scene by running the not-for-profit night Patchwork while she was at university. After her degree, she decided to move to Berlin where she initially got into DJing and electronic music. Today, she regularly plays clubs around Berlin such as Suicide Circus or Griessmuhle, while often appearing on the Cashmere radio station which she considers her second home.

Native to China, Japan, Korea, and the Russian Far East, there is a legend that tells of a Korean hermit, who removed an arrow from a wounded tiger. The tiger asked the hermit to use his powers to perpetuate their friendship after his death. The hermit agreed and when the tiger died, his body became a tiger lily. Eventually the hermit drowned and his body was washed away. The Tiger Lily spread everywhere searching for its friend.

Appropriate considering this species is also known as the Ditch Lily and can be found around ditches in large parts of America. Besides producing a stunning spectacle, a sweet and distinctively lily smell, most parts of this plant are edible.

It was used in ancient medicine throughout Asia. To this day, a tincture is made from the fresh plant and has proved of great value in uterine-neuralgia, congestion and irritation, also in the nausea and vomiting of pregnancy.

"I’m really fascinated with the way dreams can take you into darkness without becoming nightmares, and with the disorientation that comes with longer dreams that venture into different phases. So I started to play with the idea of time expanding and contracting, while venturing through disembodied vocal samples, weirdo synths and loopy melodies. I also wanted to acknowledge the dance aspect of my collection with beat-led music and techno rather than just off-kilter stuff or ambient records. I got to play a lot of darker bits that have adopted a kind of loner place in my record collection."
