Hailing from NSW, Australia, Ben “Melt” has been a solid force in the East Coast psytrance community for more than 15 years. With deep roots in darkpsy through his DJ project Acousma, Melt’s sound pushes into the heavier end of psygressive—dark, driving, and hypnotically groovy.

Expect wide-open atmospheres and intricately sculpted synth work that growls with an other-worldly edge. Beneath it all sit some of the heaviest, grittiest basslines around, always high-energy and tightly arranged.

Melt is an act that seeps through the speakers and straight into your psyche—an alien-tinged signal designed to make you move.

Cory is a songwriter and performer; he plays guitar, guitar bass, keyboard, and drums.
Having a very eclectic musical culture, he’s comfortable playing various styles of music such as rock, blues, reggae, funk and hip hop (listen to the music player).
He started off playing with friends after school, which eventually led to the creation of his first rock band in high school which gave him the opportunity to make his debut as a singer and guitarist in the reggae band Guijoko. This first experience as a performer allowed him to sharpen his skills in reggae and to play in his first gigs in major festivals.
After a few years, the band broke up, and Cory joined another reggae band, Najah’Mass, but this time not as a guitarist but at the keyboard.
After a few years, Guijoko got back together to form the new band RootsRockEarth, with one idea in mind: to be a serious and original band, mixing reggae vibration and punchy rock . During this period, they performed at various gigs in France and Switzerland (see RootsRockEarth.blogspot.fr). Meanwhile, he also created another blues/rock band called Nasty Dogs (drums and vocals) , gathering old friends and his longtime guitar teacher, all pro or semi –pro musicians, to play standard rock tubes (Hey Joe , Honky Tonk Woman, Blues Jean Blues ... ).
RootsRockEarth ended and Cory decided to go across the world to improve his English and learn music in another country, and perhaps create a new project.
