Extorted Minds returns to Instigate Recordings after several years. Debuting this first album with lyrical mastermind Catch92.

The two artists have been constructing this project over the past year, which contains a range of different tempos and melodies.

What a way for us to start 2020 for the label, taking a diverse direction with the mellow sounds of Extorted Minds & Catch92.

Some of you that have been following the label since the beginning will remember the name Extorted Minds from this Control Me EP back in November 2015. He's back with a full length LP with good friend Catch92. We are more than excited for you guys to hear what these guys have cooked up for you.

Extorted Minds & Catch92 - Visage

Deep Dubstep is an offshoot of the dubstep genre that originated in the early 2000s and is considered an experimental psychedelic variety of reggae. Deep Dubstep is the music of internal protest and the deepest direction in electronic music. It is characterized by a powerful deep bass, an abundance of deep echoes, especially on drums and percussion. The medium or slow tempo and the overall surround sound of the songs when listening to them fill the space with an exciting deep and dark atmosphere, sometimes with a strong psychedelic effect.

Yosemite Area Dubstep, DUBREAPER

Honey And Bass is a blog and monthly podcast specialising in Dubstep and other underground sounds.

I have been a DJ since the late '90s, starting off on vinyl spinning everything from 80s hip hop to super hard drum and bass and anything in between. My biggest influences have always been people like Z-Trip, Dj Shadow, and Oingo Boingo. (Even though they are not Djs, they make amazing music!) 

In the early 2000s I spun of a lot of minor shows around Austin. Nothing to major but always fun. When Austin's EDM scene got hit super hard back in the early to mid 2000s, I ended up taking a break myself due to a complete lack of the scene. It became much harder to find a show to go to, much less one to spin at. 

Here in the last 5 years I have been getting back into the scene. I got super heavy into dubstep, like a lot of people around that time, and started spinning it. Sadly I was still spinning records and finding dubstep on vinyl can be a super huge pain, as most vinyl djs might know. You can either order them online for a super high price and end up with a warped record that got shipped half way accross the world or something super scratched.I then purchased Traktor! At the time I was doing a show on a pirate radio station, Kaos Radio Austin. After about a year or so of messing with Tracktor I found that using a laptop to spin was just not for me. 

I then invested in a pair of CDJs! After that there has been no turning back to the laptop! Since then I have fallen in love with the Trap style. From there I started doing my Trapper Keeper mix series where I try to find all of my favorite trap and make a set out of it that could be spun live if needed. Since then I have also started doing two weekly podcasts, the Dusk Sessions, and the Late Night Sessions with other DJs I know. (Grimeace and Kazz of the Murder Drones, BDamage, T!bs and a few others.)
