Whether it is an individual addict craving their dose of (caffeine, nicotine, etc…) or an entire civilisations craving (oil, arable land, etc…)
The desire is the same. 
To satisfy the apparent need, at all cost.
The health, wellbeing or mana of the individual or bioregion is usually a secondary consideration during the 'good' times.

The health of a culture is reflected by its individuals.
By ecological standards our civilisation breeds sick, mentally ill addicts - bent on aiding those in power destroy the very system life relies upon for nourishment.
As a 'civilised' culture of humans, we would abhor any society or animal whose statistics match that of our own… perhaps even consider sending 'peacekeeping forces'.

BLANK (Christopher Fox, 2002)

A piece for the Yamaha Disklavier (computer operated grand piano) written for W.A.A.P.A's Conlon Nancarrow Tribute night, which it won the award for.  

Teras (Vouris 2012)

A canon, a mutant, a monster and a malign growth that feeds itself.
In 'Teras' forms and shapes are created by pitch intervals that draw out lines, contours and rhythmic formations to explore textural possibilities on the Disklavier. By treating each octave as a separate voice with its own contrasting and shifting measure. Each part  phases in and out to open up and reveal different sound colours, shifting like teutonic plates in a mass of sound.
