There are some powerful, deeply submerged kicks to be enjoyed on 'Activation', but they're not just deployed as standard. On 'Concentrate' they might be more prominent, but still there's a sense of confident restraint in which Moeller can create captivating energy and a full-frequency experience without resorting to obvious tactics. For those who favour something a little more stimulating and subtle from their techno experience, this EP has everything you need."

We are going to reveal our new project called Arts Gallery. This project has the aim to hopefully revolutionalize the way the records in techno are seen, is a unique approach to music, and the way the music is presented, a bit like a shooting star, our goal is to reach the conscious of the user and let him have more options than only 4 as in a classic 12" record, we aim to open the frontier of " one single artist x record" and let yourself immerse into this amazing combination of Art and Music in only one single record, with 2 Artists, and not anymore a single one or VA. After hearing his track ‘Oiche’ on the Fiedeltwo Various Artists last year and getting to know each other during a long party in a dark place, it was just a a matter of time to get him on board. Robert crafted a super effective, hypnotic and spacey four-tracker E.P. called ‘Final Approach’. All the necessary ingredients are perfectly mixed together to make you dance: clean kicks, polished basslines, incisive hi-hats, killer snares, percussive toms, dreamy pads and more. Each track produces an irresistible tension that will make your body move!

Junodownload Review:  Mode_1 is best known for his DJ sets at the recently shuttered District 8 club in Dublin. He now takes the expertise that he built up spinning in that venue and applies it to his dance floor productions. "Shifted" kick starts the release in high-paced mode with an eerie rhythm track swooping in to the sound of furious claps. "Satellites" is more reserved but similar in mood, as resonating, tonal bleeps unfold over staccato drums. On "Final Approach", he ups the intensity levels again, with a pounding kick underpinning bleak tones, while closing out this debut EP is the slightly deeper but still forceful tech-house of "Lasting Thought".

Kangding Ray consistently fascinates the scene with his unique style that is bridging the dance floor and abstract electronic composition, talking equally to the mind and the body. His first record for Figure spans exactly that arc, introducing to the label something both for headphones as it is built for the big clubs.

The tracks on X13 feel as intimate as the artist‘s work on other long players but are focused clearly on impacting the physical realm. Teeming with ideas, he first lets his modular synths sway and turn loosely before switching it to a more bassy and propulsive approach on the flip. Balancing cinematic strings against stepping rhythms, the EP‘s closing track is another prime example of this producer‘s skill to craft something which holds up as an abstract piece of art as much as it does yield a lot of emotional tension.
