On 'Concentrate' they might be more prominent, but still there's a sense of confident restraint in which Moeller can create captivating energy and a full-frequency experience without resorting to obvious tactics. His initial fascination with electronic music began thanks to artists like Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, and Mike Oldfield, and in the mid-90s, he started listening to Trance and Acid. Soon, he became strongly influenced by techno music, his quintessential style, with figures like Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills, Claude Young, and Oscar Mulero leaving a lasting impact on his career. With his skill and great dexterity on the decks, he became a reference in the Galician music scene.

Techno and vinyl are synonymous with life for him. Over the years, he has shared the stage with prominent figures in the national and international music scene, both within Spain and beyond its borders.

In 2007, he joined forces with De Oliveira for Delirium Tremens, a very compact and avant-garde project that combined live performances with DJ sets and/or 4 decks + 2 mixers. They released references on labels such as Mastertraxx, Naked Lunch, or Infecta.

In 2013, he co-founded the Galician collective 12-inch with Inopia, a family of vinyl and analog sound enthusiasts. They organize various events and raves where vinyl takes center stage. He is also responsible for the Archaic Podcasts, a series of sets recorded for the collective by diverse artists, predominantly featuring analog sound in the form of DJ sets or live performances, with the collaboration of artists from around the world. In 2019, they launched the vinyl label: Archaic Print, with 4 releases to date.

To round off 2023, I am delighted to present Irish techno DJ Jon Hussey. One of the most consistently brilliant techno DJs out there.

https://soundcloud.com/jonhussey is hailed as a pioneer of the Irish Techno scene, kick-starting at the infamous Planet Dub night in Columbia Mills, Dublin. He has promoted and resided at many techno clubs throughout Ireland as well as playing in many techno havens across Europe including Amsterdam, London, Bratislava, Berlin, Leeds, Turin and New York.

Jon has played alongside many of techno music’s greats and some of his all-time favourite artists from Biosphere and Plaid to renowned Techno artists like Surgeon, Joey Beltram, Jeff Mills, Steve Bicknell, Sunil Sharpe, Takaaki Itoh, Ancient Methods, Loktibrada, Rumenige, PLAYER, Dave Clarke, Mark Broom, Inigo Kennedy, Neil landstrumm, Reeko, DJ Boss, Bas Mooy, PERC, Hardfloor, Oscar Mulero, Jerome Hill, Paula Temple, Ellen Allien, Exium and Thomas P Heckmann.

Jon has previously released with fellow Techno DJ Sunil Sharpe as part of a joint project under the moniker 'Tricaustic' with “the Caustophobic Pressure EP” on Komisch records, this was well received and supported in the Techno community.

Jon has also had other successful techno releases on RLSD records (Dark Motif), EARWIGGLE records (Eel Behaviour series), Ceili Tracks, Deliquent Delivery and Circuit Structure Records.

I had the pleasure of playing back to back with Jon a few years ago in Galway, Ireland. Hopefully we'll do it again sometime.

Junodownload Review: Irish DJ/producer Lee Holman appears for French imprint Knotweed proper, first making his impression on sister label Decision Making Theory (DMT) with the Provider EP last year. The Kawl chief is in fine form on "Class Warfare" nailing that majestic Purposemaker vibe of old with hypnotic chiming melodies but with the added fury of broken beats beneath. Holman really finds his own sound on the next cut "Shifting Axis" which was our definite favourite of the bunch. This dreamy and evocative journey takes in the best of hypnotic techno and IDM and has potential for crossover appeal. Finally, Holman gets back to the program on the grinding cyclicality of "Primary System" fuelled by a Robert Hood style monosynth bassline, ethereal pads and austere rhythm work.
