He describes himself as always interested in sounds and the people behind these sounds. These artist who always push the boundaries further and further to give us new experiences. Expressing emotions happens in so different ways...

After arriving in Frankfurt one and half years ago, Samer took the chance to dig deeper into music. Experience new cultures, and listen to their stories through sounds pushed him to play music. Music that describes Samer the most.

Very excited to have a special guest in our podcast. The notorious @diskokatze was found roaming through our Bassword Podcast and left some undeniable marks on his journey. Buckle up for straight forward minimal techno underlined with psychedelic elements. Keeping the perfect balance between progressive basslines and deep vibes sweetened with playful spacy sounds, you really can get lost in his music. Also CAUTION…guaranteed increase in bpms of your heart rate.

Raik alias Diskokatze had in the last two years over 200 gigs where he made many people happy with his signature sound. To name a few adresses, he played at Jonny Knüppel, Burg Schnabel, Hamburger BAALSAAL & Fundbureau as well as Best Bar Khao San Road in Bangkok or the  legendaey Oxa Beach Koh Phangan. 

In 2018 Raik alias Diskokatze and a couple of friends established the „Free-Open Air Kollektiv Exit“ to organize their first events in the bush of our capital. 1 year later the next project was in its starting gates and he found the music and event label „Katzenjammer Rec. Berlin“.
Besides he had a great share in realising the „Jubeljahre Festival“ in Galenbeck. He was in charge of design and construction of the stage. 


Born and raised at the Ostsee, you can now find him in Berlin!

Bassword #7 - Diskokatze

We are so happy to welcome the outernational DJ-Dou @oriental-tropical based in Wiesbaden with roots in Greece and Ukraine. The name says it all!

Both are playing music and organizing events since more than two decades and since exactly one decade together. About half a decade ago Michalis and Janeck started to run regular slow down happenings as a part of "Mach Mal Langsam"-collective (@machmallangsam). The collective shares the passion to decelerated beats and relaxed grooves with a faithful and meanwhile huge audience.    

"We love music, digital, analog, live or recorded, organic or electronic, or all together...We love rhythms and riddims, operating certain with 4-to-the-floor, wouldn't mind to take a ride on 3/4, 6/8, or even 7/8-time signature. We have a pleasure to use the tempo also as an element to transport and express the emotions."

Performing on parties Oriental Tropical have seldom the opportunity to keep people on raving for a long time under 90bpm! This is exactly tempo limit of their latest mixtape created for Us from the neighboring Frankfurt.

How Slow Can You Go? Thats was the question...
Just tap, to know it precisely, something between 70 and 80bpm;)
To go slower as that is more the assignment for Michalis and his tempered by time psy-chill-dub project @schlafcola. Anyways they are strongly influenced by this sounds.

Justus and  partner in crime - Chris Plettenberg  - founded the collective "Beschäftigungstherapie. They also established a very successful podcast series on Soundcloud as well as a party series. Furthermore he is part of "Staygold Music" an underground electronic music, talent and event agency based in Berlin. 

His references include the colorful bouquet of the Berlin club scene. Further he plays in Europe and exotic places like Guatemala, Uganda and Rwanda. You can find his whole club history on his soundcloud profile.

Bassword #8 - justUS

In episode ten we spice things up a little with @roman_kaschuba from Cologne's @kollektiv33 .

It is often not easy to be a musican at the countryside: urban influences spread slower and opportunities are limited. For Roman influences like Haseland Magnetschallplaten and the Anklang parties in Osnabrück were these occasions that surely had an impact on him. From there on he dedicated himself to music and music production.

After he moved south and called Cologne "home" his first digital releases followed soon, which eventually led him to Kollektiv 33. As of now Roman clearly has arrived describing his music production in the following words: "In my pieces I progress a lot of what happens around me. When something really gets to me, a new track usually comes out of it."

For this podcast Roman combines funky elements with dark disco tracks. This one hour mix varies from tempo, style and mood: New synth sounds to ebm! 
We are definitely shaking from left to right and can't wait to hear the resident of Kollektiv33 play live hopefully very soon.

Thick Basslines fueled with hypnotic melodies and spacy elements are about to put you into another dimension. For 1 hour he doesn’t move his foot from the throttle and still keeps progressing through his set. His forward moving style of minimal techno gets very deep and dark at times and lights up again with playful psyelements. 

Born and raised in Mainz SPEZI. is now found in Berlin, where this young talent already had a few gigs. His musical path already crossed  Places like AVA Berlin (Die jungen Wilden), Anita Berber & other Open Airs in Berlin. Bassword #9 - SPEZI.

With @moa-musicbase we welcome our second DJ'ane for the eleventh How Slow Can You Go podcast.

When we first listend to one of her sets, we immediately fell in love with her energetic style. Her mystical sound makes it easy for the audience to be beamed in a different sphere. Trippy elements are part of a driving downtempo journey often ending up in soulful spikes.

The Hamburg local already played gigs at Beate Uwe, Waagenbau, Docks, Hamburn, Solar and organizes her own downtempo-events called "leichtfüßig" (light-footed). She also collaborates with @ShopUntitled (New York)for the UntitledCast (podcast series). 

Moå's music is inspired by extensive travel experiences in various cultural settings as well as meeting free spirits along the way. Without a doubt these occasions speak through her music!

Our dear friend Andi aka @Shamandiii graces us with the 12th episode of How Slow Can You Go.We can hardly believe that the first season is already over. A year that was certainly special for all of us, but also brought us a lot of fantastic music from great people: Andi is without a doubt no exclusion to this. 

With gigs at Kabinett der Kuriositäten,Dreamscape,Tropen Tango Festival,Dune Festival he certainly is no stranger to the local electronic music scene.

Today we welcome our dear fellow from Copenhagen @allindrum .

The self proclaimed "Unicorn from Outta Space" gives us a nice bouncy and straightforward ride through the Galaxies. It's a bassy trip to your inner core with a potpourri of various influences that touch your soul.
Al originally played this set live at Vadestedet festival in the Freetown of Christiania.

The producer is an integral part of the Copenhagen underground scene and already released music at different labels such as @wayurecords , @cosmic-awakenings & @downvienna. Al is also 1/2 of the dj duo @superpendejos.

Nach einer längeren Bassword Pause möchten wir 2021 mit einem großen Knall verabschieden. Sanne Aarns ist eines unserer musikalischen Highlights dieses Jahr und wir freuen uns sehr diese wunderbare Entdeckung 2021 mit euch teilen zu können. 
Sannes Sets sind geprägt durch druckvoll treibende Basslines eingebettet in einer melodischen Spähre & psychodelischen Elementen. Ihr Sound ist das was wir am Techno lieben, die Ehrlichkeit und Energie mit der wir uns fallen lassen können. Da wird uns auch ohne Glühwein warm ums Herz. Danke dafür Sanne!

Die gebürtige Berlinerin ist seit vielen Jahren im Berliner Nachtleben und bei elektronischen Musik Veranstaltungen anzutreffen.
Vor 2 Jahren hat sie sich dann dazu entschieden, auch aktiv, ihren eigenen musikalischen Beitrag zu leisten und fing selbst an zu mixen. Rafael Oliveira is a DJ from Darmstadt who has been a frequent DJ in Frankfurt since 2018. Whether at the Kuddelmuddel, at the Rummelfest or at Kabinett der Kuriositäten, the passionate DJ and event manager causes a stir with melodic, driving sets. Last year he founded a new collective called Kollektiv Einklang, which brings together art and music and is also in close contact with the Hand aufs Herz Kollektiv.

In these somewhat strange times we get the chance to take a deep dive into mømø’s soundtrack for episode 3. Following the tale of his all time favorite story character (Michael Ende's wonderful novel Momo), he has set course to remind people of the dangers that lie within the false promises of an economic-centered society. Mømø longs to give back some quality time offshore the lands of profit and efficiency.
Engineering audio to fit this dark tale, mømø has taken this episodes soundscape to resemble his feeling about isolation, uncertainty and discomfort in a state of a fading hope.

Really happy to introduce the first female DJ Erzsébet in our podcast series ‚Bassword’. Erzsébet supported us right from the beginning with her unique sound. She puts a lot of heart and effort into her music and sets, which we were able to witness live on the first ‚Electronic Brunch‘. Starting out with playing music in 2018 she already has had gigs at „Kabinett der Kuriositäten“ and Silbergold.

Her musical style is not easily put into one single genre, ranging from disco and old school house influences to darker and deeper sounds. Her self-described happy place in music is the place where the gloomy and the cheesy come together. Right now she is working on producing her own music and already released a Remix called „DNS - Orange Island (Erzsébet's Orange Realness Dance Mix)“. We are more than happy to have her play a special mix for us. Buckle up for a journey. It has it all : deep sounds, trance melodies, cosmic chords embedded in electronic euphoria. Our next protagonist is Francesco Rizzi from Berlin. He is a part of Kollektiv Liebe e.V, which is well known for there lovely parties, social and cultural projects in the context of sustainability and education.

Since he is from our hometown Frankfurt and shares the same musical spirit, he was never too far away from us. Lars is part of DURCH AND DANN LINKS (STRAIGHT AND THEN LEFT) collective. 

What else to say about him?
You can find him staggering into the universe (backwards of course) and then left, sharp left, not to miss the exit. Slowly sipping his cozy cup of tea, his style of music is sometimes ha, sometimes hu but always hm.... Wait What? Exactly!

Buckle up and travel together with him through deep bass lines and spherical sounds. This ride is mellow and high-energetic at the same time. In the end you can be sure to reach your final destination, wherever this might be.

There are no more appropriate words to describe this young unstoppable man. Birthday and Christmas on the same day shows us that @Mischolino has thought of partying ever since. Herbs and honey is all that he needs. Mischolino collected his musical influences from various spots that perfectly reproduce his sound as well as his character. From Berlin and Moscow via Milano and Barcelona to Ibiza and of course not to forget sexy FFM 069! 
To get a spark of his world too, he recorded a birthday set taking you on a wild journey. Have fun!

A very warm welcome to 2021. We all hope that this year will again be marked by community,culture and creative exchange. It seems that it is just a faded memory from a time long past. So we wish for nothing more than to colour this memory by dancing together: Live & Authentic  ❤️

This time the patient waiting will be sweetened by @chu-chi-gong . The DJ'ane from Frankfurt is a part of Kollektiv Schöne Töne (@schoene_toene)and already played gigs at Kabinett der Kuriositäten, Tropen Tango Festival and Cassiopeia.

Telling stories musically her style is slow, deep and emotional along with  a broad variety of influences: Ethno, folklore & Medicine-Music to name just a few.

Chuchi wants to overcome boundaries with love, music and spirituality. Her intention is to touch the deepest feelings of people opening up the safe space for the listener to set them free.

Welcome back. We are happy to introduce our next artist Alicia Hahn. Alicia is part of the DURCH UND DANN LINKS Kollektiv in Frankfurt. She is a very talented up and coming DJane in Frankfurt who already proofed to be made for the stage at our Electronic Brunch in March. Other than that she played at Fridas Pier (Stuttgart), Toast Hawaii (Berlin) and Raver Renes Raver Ranch (Weimar). 
Deep, progressive and melodic sounds are the building blocks in her musical arsenal. However for this mix she giftet us with breakbeats embedded in deep ambient sounds. Very nice stuff. Thank your for that! Enjoy the Ride with Alicia Hahn.

Bassword #5 - Alicia Hahn

For this episode we are so delighted to be featured by @phil_wee. His humble character, down-to-earth mentality and social-critical attitude makes him a true companion for us. 

From a very young age on he just felt a deep connection to music. Growing up Phil always was surrounded by it due to his dad collecting records diligently. By the age of 15, inspired by a close friend, Phil taught himself how to play bass guitar and took on a more active role in music.
For him it can be used to express everything for which there are no words. An endless, ever new space of tones, harmonies, rhythms, emotions, silence and so much more. Not to forget music is also a channel for all the turmoil of everyday life.

For Phil there is an inner thread of listening and experiencing that resonates for him as a DJ in other people’s music. Not knowing what exactly this energy is he follows this path almost unconditionally. Almost means that there is this occasional inner stop sign stating: "You can't do it like that"… But his authentic vision is clear: “I would be happy if someday I could say unconditionally – Just do it: Press PLAY and GO!

Phil’s style of music is influenced from sounds stretching all over the world. For him it is important to use the privilege as a DJ to support artists globally. Not only by buying their music but also to address imbalances and inequalities in the music business. @phil_wee stands for more social justice but not in a context of an unconnected "everything-happy-world" that ignores real life circumstances.

Most happy to welcome KliX (@klix-breidenbach-studio). As Max says....."der ist direkt voll da. wird nicht lange rumgefackelt... krank, wenn das so weiter geht, weiß ich nicht wo das noch hinführen soll".

This bassword episode is contributed by Klix’s well-placed atmospheric sounds polished by deep and almost trancy elements. Yet staying true to his original taste in house music, he delivers once more a smooth mix full of hip shaking grooves. His self-produced, yet unreleased tracks, fit perfectly to the spacy vinyl vibes.

In 2019 haben wir das Hand aufs Herz Kollektiv gegründet mit dem Ziel, eine lokale Plattform für kreativen Austausch zu schaffen. 
Ob musikalisch, gestalterisch oder kulturell wollen wir jedem eine Bühne geben, sich und seine Arbeit zu präsentieren.
Als Grundpfeiler unseres Schaffens gelten für jenes und alle weiteren Projekte die Themen Nachhaltigkeit, Regionalität und Gemeinschaft.
Der Electronic Brunch ist dabei das erste Projekt unseres jungen Kollektives.
