Shamanta Chandran) is a Syrian-born, Tamil-Canadian producer/DJ/singer/songwriter and scientist, based in Toronto. Growing up on the outskirts of the city, she studied and classically trained in opera and jazz as an arts high school kid. Her deep love for electronic music was ignited, after being introduced to the mid-90’s Toronto rave scene by her older brother.She made her mark in Toronto's electronic music scene through live hardware deep house/techno-focused sets. When Djing she is known as a quality selector of many genres from hip hop, reggae, to house and everything in between. For this podcast she has put together a selection of her all times favourite tunes including one of her own tracks.

With a never waining passion for exploration and evolution within his relationship to music, Brett has been fortunate to experience a successful, varied, and full career within the industry over the past twenty-five years. With experience in film score work, live performance, and university music teaching, Brett finds musical fulfillment through collaboration, education, and sonic exploration. Since early beginnings, Brett's music has recently evolved into the more experimental and ambient. Exploring creativity through technical synthesis techniques melded with field recordings, tape manipulation, and meaningful intentions. With a keen eye for detailed and lush sonic landscapes, Brett has found evolving inspiration within the experimentation and practice of obscure sound design, and synthesis techniques involving filter pinging and modular systems.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. This can be applied to our music policy, tilting the vertical axis resulting in a sharp area of focus without reducing the depth of field. The selective focus that can be achieved by both tilting and shifting movements, It's compelling because the effect is different from that which you may have become accustomed to. This movement is often used to avoid the convergence of parallel lines, or as we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur.

The first warm days of spring prompt many people to prepare for the summer months after many weeks of sun deprivation. Over the Easter holidays, some friends of mine organized an open-air barbecue with cocktails and a beach bar at a disused marshalling yard. At least there was already sand and the system was successfully supplied with electricity. We were reasonably lucky with the weather, it just got very chilly in the evening. But with the right lighting and dancing, people warmed up again. Nobody was disturbed, we weren't even noticed. That's why the party went on late into the night and we had our first open-air fun.
This set was around sunset when people started dancing...(A 2 hour clip)...
As always, I record my sets at off locations because it's always special and a bit out of character.
