Influences:
    My favorite artists include DJ Venom, DJ BAM BAM, Angel Alanis, POOGIE, and Marc, Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, and Fatboy Slim. Too many influences.... Oh.. I must thank Madonna, Michael and Janet Jackson, Prince, and Paula Abdul... that's all i ever danced to when i was a kid. :) RIP MJ! Those are just a few, i could be here allll day talking about what music artists influence me.

    My style... well when producing I make what I feel. It's an art form, similar to write poetry. I do try to make it fun, and interesting from a dancers point of view. During the last five years Nykki has been studying the Musical arts, and continues forward on her path of DJ'ing, entertaining crowd goers abroad. Her Production genre varies, but all seem to fall under the "Dark Techno" / "Industrial Dance" categories. She specializes in remixing popular tracks to her own tastes, and how the music should be heard from a dancer point of view. Nykki isn't limited to just vinyl dj'ing. She also uses MP3's and/or CDs when the appropriate equipment is available. Most of her DJ sets consist of dance music of late 90's, classic Tech-House, popular rave anthems, breakbeats, and sub genres of house. With Kidd Klasz as her mentor it isn't hard to ignore their similar styles of mixing. Like Klasz, she aims to never let a record spin for more than a few minutes, just as long as the harmonious message has been implied. 

Biography:
    DJ/Producer/Promoter, Nykki Bangs has been DJing 7 years, and producing for almost5. Though her first love is for Vinyl records, she recently expanded her talents immersing herself in the production of her own tracks, as well as getting aquainted with the ever-so popular Serato Scratch LIVE.

    Nykki's vinyl mixes consist of classic late 90's Techno, House, and Club remixes. Contrary to what she mixes, Nykki produces Industrial Dance music and dark styles of EDM. It also seems that she has taken a liking to producing mash-ups and remixes of unique, yet popular tracks.

    In the upcoming 2010 year, she plans to focus more on her music along side her husband's company, UNLIT PRODUCTIONS. With no real big plans to become "famous", she plans to continue to educate a newer generation with an aural influence. Nykki wishes to showcase the classic vinyl tracks that are now the roots of what has become one of the largest entertainment industries in the world.

Growing up in the midwestern United States, Butane was steeped in the classic underground house and techno sounds that originated in Chicago and Detroit. Further influences came from afar: New York house, West Coast house, UK tech house, Cologne techno, Berlin minimal. His formative years were spent on the dancefloors of legendary venues like Twilo and Vinyl in New York City, Space and Crobar during Miami’s Winter Music Conference, and Rednofive in Chicago.

An avid record collector and DJ since 2002, Andrew’s infamous monthly party in St. Louis established an underground scene in the city and became a must-stop for touring international artists. In 2004, he embarked on his own artistic journey in the studio, despite lacking any formal musical training (a classically trained pianist he was not). Proving to be a fast learner, his unique and eclectic sound began earning him worldwide acclaim on international record labels in a mere matter of months. The German press dubbed him a wunderkind. He moved to Berlin shortly after, residing in the city from 2006–2011.

Now a resident of San Francisco, Butane is renowned for a steadfast commitment to his craft, and stands as a pillar of artistic integrity and consistency in the rapidly changing realm of electronic dance music. He values studio work over social media, and boasts an impressive and sprawling discography released by some of the most respected imprints in the business. As the founder of three labels of his own - Alphahouse, Little Helpers, and Extrasketch - Butane's impact on the industry is both deep and enduring.

Whirling Dervish Productions came together out of the need for higher quality underground music experiences for adults in the Denver area. A collaboration between Brown Elvis Presents and Mental 69 of the Fantastic Hosts.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
