Now that I've been doing this 'Wou-Wou...' malarkey for a year, I thought it'd be fun to do a special retrospective playlist filled with my favourite tracks thus far. So here it is.

It's pretty long, as I thought that 52 tracks (to mark each week in a year) was a good figure to work with. But even with its monstrous size, I still ran out of room for so many great tracks 'n' artists... cue honourable mentions: @chrisliving, @colab, @edouard-trolliet, @hannahmickunas, @jim-manser, @narcissenoyiugugu, @sarahshamash, @soundwanderer, @thomhowarth, @tushsnk, @theweightytree just off the top of my head, but there's so many I know that I've missed. Maybe self-restraint is the most important kind.

Not much is said about the fear of freedom. Along with exhilaration comes worry: What might we do if unrestrained? If nothing is held back, what then? What will change, what might we lose? How can we predict, control, understand? What if people (including me) do things with their freedom I don't like?! Oh, man....

Maybe, as a group especially, we'd rather put up with something we know is wrong than face the fear of the unknown. Are we ready for a little healthy fear for the sake of freedom? I'm not sure, we seem to be going the other direction-- giving up so much freedom for the illusion of security.
