About the Artist: 
Ekko is a DJ / Producer from Ulm, Germany who excites with his unique melodic, progressive, and highly danceable sound in which he combines banging techno beats with melodies, that send shivers down the spine.

The unique combination of bass-heavy kickdrums and trance-infused synth basslines with 303s and dark, melancholic melodies is guaranteed to gather fans of Melodic Techno as well as Peak-Time enthusiasts around his DJ booth!

Van Kost and Ekko join forces for the second release on LAPS Recordings: „Call of the Void EP“ takes us on a journey into a black hole and brings together the best of what the two very different producers have to offer. The EP clearly has its roots in the Melodic Techno realm, but is strongly influenced by a large variety of electronic subgenres. Although the EP contains only 4 tracks, the duo managed to create a storyline that resembles that of a concept album while at the same time pushing the boundaries of what could be categorized under the term "Melodic Techno" with their exceptionally creative sound-design. „Singularity“, with its long, atmospheric intro, paints a first picture of the setting where the whole EP is going to take place. With its UK-Techno and Breakbeat influenced groove, it clearly stands out from the following tracks and takes the listener into a very young, chaotic universe where time and space still dont exist. With „Call of the Void“ the duo delivers us a dark, energetic Melodic Techno banger, that fits perfectly into the meta. The warm, wide synths and emotional melodies create an atmosphere that touches the hearts of everyone who has a crave for goosebumps. However, the track stays highly danceable and energetic until the end. The intense vibe created by the synths symbolizes the gravitation of a black hole, that no one can withstand. „Traveller“ is way more progressive than any other track on the EP and lets the listener drift through the strange world behind the event horizon. The focus clearly lays on the forceful bassline, that plays in a polymetric groove, and the detuned pads and arps enhance the strange vibe even more. „Event Horizon" maybe the most difficult of the four tracks to squeeze into one category. The trance-influenced bassline creates a bouncy, danceable vibe, the brass section and pads on the other hand are more melancholic and mellow, the shuffled hats, the 303s and the diffuse drones make it impossible to chose one emotion for the track that seems to be perfect at being everything at once.

Herbrido - Night Ride

Ekko is back with this massive two-tracker. His third solo release on Laps Recordings is Ekko at his best. Satellite is an arp driven cool dancefloor tool. As known , with Ekko comes acid, also in this track. The second track Mayhem is simply epic and more focused on the complex wonderful melody. But after the break he serves a nice candy flip out of DnB influenced bass fills and oldschool rave stabs. Dope!

This round is served by a new face on our label. Tangerine Dreamer from Glasgow delivers well calculated melodic heat. The first track of this two-tracker fits perfect in the club aswell as the festival beach. This bassline keeps you grooving. The b-side is more playful, dreamy and also melancholic. A perfect finish.

We are going international once again: its a huge pleasure for us to welcome the young & talented producer IN-sane from Italy to our LAPS-family! He comes up with a powerful and versatile 3 tracker. The first track "My Way" has a really groovy nature to it and catches the listener with its main vocal. "Dreamcode", the title track, is a driving, highly danceable Melodic-Techno tune and the closing track "Dramacode" adds even more energy and drive to the dancefloor!

Techno is colourful.

We are LAPS Recordings, a young, growing Techno Label from Germany! The name "LAPS" is an acronym containing the initials of our 4 founding members. At the same time it highlights the concept of time, which is a topic all our productions will revolve around! 

Coming from very different musical backgrounds, the core substance of our label sound revolves around dark, energetic and emotional melodies, forceful kickdrums and driving basslines. Those main topics reappear in all of our productions, but so do the individual tastes of all founding members.
