The lead-off track from our 7th album and second Juno-nominated recording, Village in Me is like a call to arms from Eccodek. A driving, vocal performance that takes no prisoners while the band lays down a thunderous performance anchored by drums, bass, moog and some serious baritone sax.

This was designed for a yoga class that was taught in 2015 by Jessica Annand at the Stewart Mineral Springs Retreat Center near Mt. Shasta, California. It was featured in the @healing-temple series in 2016.

'Arihkar' means "to jump into the water' in the Karuk language, spoken in the Northern California region.

This set was from 6-8:30pm. There was a break a half hour into it for a circle that happens with some discussion with the community, the only edit I made to this recording was to take out that part. I went into this event intentionally not knowing what songs I would play or in what order I would play them, I decided to pick them on the fly depending how how things felt in the moment. Eugene, Oregon (where this dance was) has stronger affinity toward vintage music than any place I can think of so I was trying to work that into this mix a bit. Huge thank you to the awesome people putting on Coalessence and to the dancers rocking that dance floor!
