[15/07/2025] Some of What Ahl al-‘Ilm Have Mentioned Regarding the Great Scholar Shaykh Rabī’ b. Hādī al-Madkhalī (رحمه الله) - By Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this lesson:

- Benefits from the book of Shaykh Khālid aẓ-Ẓafīrī (حفظه الله) titled, ath-Thanā’ al-Badī’ min al-‘Ulamā’ ‘alā ash-Shaykh Rabī’.

- Shaykh Rabī’s striving to aid and advise the ummah.

- The blessing placed in the time of the scholars.

- The sunnah of Allāh (سبحانه وتعالى) with His slaves that will never change.

- A reminder that it is not needed for you to put yourself forward; Allāh raises whom He wills. 

- Another letter Shaykh Ibn Bāz sent to Shaykh Rabī’ in 1415 asking him to refute Nazīh Hammād who spoke about the Sifāt of Allāh.

- His instruction to Shaykh Rabī’ to refute and rectify the mistakes of anyone who errs, even himself (i.e Shaykh Ibn Bāz).

- The great position Shaykh Rabī’ had with Shaykh Ibn Bāz.

- An example of how Allāh raises whom He wills: Abū Talhah Dāwūd Burbank (رحمه الله), who was sincere, humble, and fled from the limelight.

– "All of the Children of Ādam are erroneous and sinful, the best of those who sin and err are those who repent." Hadith.
– Allāh تعالى says: {Say: “O ‘Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful} [Surah Zumar (39):53].
– Hadith Qudsi: "O my slaves. Indeed, you sin during the day and you sin during the night but I will forgive all sins".
– An encouragement to come back from sin and return back to Allāh.
– Narrations highlighting that Allāh is the Oft-Forgiving and Most-Merciful.
– The ways and means to return to Allah:
- Changing one’s condition.
- ⁠Du'ā – "Sayyidul Istighfār".
– Explanation of the du'ā.
– Du'ā for wellbeing in this life and the hereafter.
– Allāh does not change the state of a person until they change themselves.
– Those who do wrong then they seek forgiveness. And who seeks forgiveness..do not continue on with the sin.
