we took this land, it wasn't right, but, what we as Americans did try to do over time was help others who were in need just like most all of our ancestors were.   i see these babies being hered like an animal and i weep at the thought of my 3 or 5 year old grand baby having to go through such a thing.  i wish you would post the lyrics.

the "story behind the song" ......... "Not From Here" was written during one of the many news stories and confrontations that occured at our southern border in the United States this past year or more. Families and individuals, including children, walking thousands of miles to be in our country. The hysteria, drama, angry words all seemed too much for a group of people in need. I felt we had lost our compassion and forgotten our history. We had forgotten that we are a country of immigrants, we are "not from here". It is the 2nd "political" song on my album and just serves  as a way for me to express how I feel about this topic in a way that hopefully is not confrontational.  The music was meant to show compassion thru the use of the piano throughout the track, to calm us all. The most "wailing" guitar of all my tracks reflects the crying and pain of these folks caught up in all of this.

Rather than follow the traditional path for this classic Christmas song we decided to change the words just a bit so the story is quicker paced than usual and told in the present tense. The message is eternal and unchanging and we hope our acoustic folk version will express it as well as any other version has for generations. Wishing everyone a very joyful Christmas 2022!

"It's just a hobby!"

I bought my first guitar about 10 years ago, I was 56 years old. I had wanted to learn long ago and decided with my early retirement, now was a good time! I had no musical experience but with the help of many YouTube videos (mostly JustinGuitar.com), I started to learn. Along the way, I wrote my first original song and started videoing and recording my music, both originals (@lenaloise) and covers (@lenaloisecovers). My first song was posted about 5 years after that first guitar!

My music "hobby" has really grown since I started! Many guitars, pedals, gadgets, equipment! But it's a hobby! I work hard for every note and learning this instrument at an older age is different from starting in your teens! My page is a mix of things that I enjoy in my "hobby"! I record "almost live" with minimal takes and editing. I strive for fun, not perfection, and I learn as I need to for that enjoyment!
