A new composition
Lyrics:

In the silence of the night, I've laid my heart bare,
Words like whispers drifting, tangled in the air.
I spoke of the shadows, the weight of a smile,
Trying to lift the darkness, if just for a while.

I’ve seen the faces, their eyes locked tight,
Chasing the phantoms of a flickering light.
Lost in the chatter, of voices all wrong,
Searching for truth in a deafening song.

But the last song is playing, and it’s bittersweet,
A melody fading, beneath restless feet.
Where do we wander when the lights start to fade?
In this masquerade, has hope ever stayed?

 Lost in the shuffle, as we dance in the dark,
Clinging to echoes, but where’s the spark?
This world is a canvas smeared with despair,
Maybe the colors were never quite there.

So, what will be left when we roll up the scroll?
A tale of a wanderer, lost in the control.
I question the fabric of this strange design,
Is it fate or just folly that draws us the line?
                                               
So, I sing one last time, in the still of the night,
As the curtain is falling, I hold on to the light.
We fight for a place where the heart can be free,
In this aching reflection, it's just you and me.

The Last Song is Playing

I have enjoyed music for as long as I can remember and cannot remember a day of not either singing or listening to music. I am self-taught when it comes to playing guitar but what I most enjoy is singing which I have been doing since around age 18. Now retired singing and playing the guitar is now just a hobby and something I do to help pass the time. Have always  loved the sound of a Martin guitar. Currently been playing a Road Series DR S2 for about 6 years. Thanks for listening. I also enjoy discovering the sounds of other talented musicians and singers here on SoundCloud.
