April 16th sees the inaugural Scottish House & Disco Festival landing at SWG3 in Glasgow, we are going to be covering the festival heavily in the coming month talking to many of the artists appearing at the event.

First up is Irish collective @queenanddisco and we can't think of anyone better to start proceedings. We have been keeping an eye on these renowned party starters for a few years now as they continue to build a reputation for their high octane mix sessions be it from their live events or their lockdown streams during the height of Covid.

Their appearance at the Scottish House & Disco Festival gives us the perfect opportunity to get them in for a long overdue chat about their career to date and what we can expect when we catch them live. To top it all off they have put together a barnstormer of a mix to kick off our festival mixtape series. Hey this is John from Le Visiteur Online, welcome to the first of our new audio interviews where I will be speaking to some of disco and house music’s most inspiring artists and biggest characters.

For our opening episode I am talking one of the true legends of the scene Nicky Siano. His club 'The Gallery' in Manhattan was one of the three clubs which helped spark the disco scene and bring it to worldwide attention alongside the Loft and the Paradise Garage. Nicky was also a resident at the equally legendary Studio 54.

Inspiring those around him Nicky was a mentor to both Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles so his imprint on the scene is unquestionable.

We had a long chat about his career including how he started his DJ'ing 16, the impact of the Gallery, how he developed his DJ Style, David Mancuso, Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, his own DJ heroes, his upcoming film ‘Love is the message’ and how his career and life has progressed over the years.

@natasha-kitty-katt's rise through the disco and house scene has been nothing short of meteoric over the last few years. Having seen Natasha play on many occasions I can attest to her skills behind the decks, each set a carefully crafted selection of all that is great with the disco both modern and classic.

For my second dedicated Scottish House and Disco Interview I am speaking to @michael-gray who found fame in the 90’s as one half of Full Intention, a duo who hit the top of the charts all over the globe with their track America (I Love America) and their remix of Duke’s So In Love With You as well as a long list of A-list artist remixes. Michael also had major chart success again in the 00’s with his album Analog Is On which featured the singles The Weekend and Borderline. It’s very safe to say that he has consistently been one of the UK’s most successful producers.

I spoke to Michael about the incredible successes he has had, his studio, his production flow and he gave us some tips on how to remix classic tracks. We also discussed who he is looking forward to seeing on the Scottish House and Disco Festival on the 16th April, his label Sultra, his radio show and many other aspects of his career. It’s a fascinating interview.

Hi this is John from levisiteuronline.com and today I am speaking to House legend @mousset ahead of his appearance at the Scottish House and Disco festival in Glasgow on Saturday 16th April.

We had a long chat about his introduction to music, his inspirations, his long and colourful career, including his albums, his Grammy nomination, his mega hits with Horny and Sex Bomb and his favourite own remixes. He also gave us some fantastic advice on how to craft timeless remixes. We chatted about some of the artists who are exciting him right now including Folamour, Young Pulse and Tom Misch and who he is excited to see at the Scottish House and Disco festival.

Today I'm in conversation with one of the great's of the disco era, @john-morales, John found fame in the late 70s and 80s as one half of M&M productions alongside Sergio Munzabai. His imprint on Disco, Boogie and the foundations of house music is incalculable. M&M crafted more than 650 Productions and remixes in their time together for some of the stars of the disco and Boogie era including Thelma Houston, Evelyn 'Champagne' King, Shakatak, The Fatback Band, The Temptations, James Brown, The Commodores and Candi Staton. His incredible work has influenced and set the benchmark for many of the producers who have come down the line since.

Previous to this partnership, John had already made his mark on the scene as an editor and remixer in his own right, becoming one of the first ever producers to create extended remixes when he was making tracks to play out in his DJ sets in the 70s. He struck up a lifelong friendship with Jocelyn Brown when he produced her act Inner Life for Salsoul. Many of his early productions remain un-credited, so it's impossible to calculate just how many tracks John has been involved with over the years.

After a break from the mixing side of music in the 90s. John came back to music in the mid 00s and has never looked back creating some incredible releases for BBE, Motown, Philadelphia International and Quantize. He is also in huge demand as a DJ all over the globe.

Over the last decade, John's timely return has seen his work brought to the attention of a whole new generation of clubbers and music lovers so it's a pleasure to speak to him today.
