"As 'Discography Lessons' is all about promoting positive mental health, I have chosen music that makes my mind, body and soul feel good. - I've gone for music that spans time and genre but all has one thing in common; each track creates a sense of happiness and well-being within me in it's own unique way whether they give me goosebumps, make me want to dance or just seem to caress my inner mind. I start with a mix of downtempo, funk and yacht soul at 100bpm moving through into reworked classics, deep house, nu-disco and italo and finally finishing with some dancefloor beauties at 128bpm. I hope this mix will improve moods and make people feel positive and motivated."

Australia's Ken@Work (@kenneth-walker-33) is a DJ / producer who is very aptly named, he is one seriously prolific artist with a warm and inviting sound which always hits the right spots. Between his work for the legendary DMC and his own releases he's consistently hitting the upper reaches of the download charts. He's also an interesting character with a long history as well, check out his recent interview with Lenny Fontana on his True House Stories series to get a bit more flavour of what Ken@Work is all about.

Ken is also behind the Work It Radio show which is syndicated across the globe. This week the show hits the 100th episode mark and to celebrate Ken has pulled together a selection of tracks from some of the scene's biggest hitters which are so fresh that they don't actually have artwork yet. For my second dedicated Scottish House and Disco Interview I am speaking to @michael-gray who found fame in the 90’s as one half of Full Intention, a duo who hit the top of the charts all over the globe with their track America (I Love America) and their remix of Duke’s So In Love With You as well as a long list of A-list artist remixes. Michael also had major chart success again in the 00’s with his album Analog Is On which featured the singles The Weekend and Borderline. It’s very safe to say that he has consistently been one of the UK’s most successful producers.

I spoke to Michael about the incredible successes he has had, his studio, his production flow and he gave us some tips on how to remix classic tracks. We also discussed who he is looking forward to seeing on the Scottish House and Disco Festival on the 16th April, his label Sultra, his radio show and many other aspects of his career. It’s a fascinating interview.

Hi this is John from levisiteuronline.com and today I am speaking to House legend @mousset ahead of his appearance at the Scottish House and Disco festival in Glasgow on Saturday 16th April.

We had a long chat about his introduction to music, his inspirations, his long and colourful career, including his albums, his Grammy nomination, his mega hits with Horny and Sex Bomb and his favourite own remixes. He also gave us some fantastic advice on how to craft timeless remixes. We chatted about some of the artists who are exciting him right now including Folamour, Young Pulse and Tom Misch and who he is excited to see at the Scottish House and Disco festival.

This episode saw me rockin’ around the BPMs once again, veering between 100 and 125 as I so like to do. We had a fair few promos and newish bits from the likes of Peter Shalvoy, Picklejam, Groovemasta, Walter G, Chewy Rubs and myself, plus some extra strong funky business from XL Middleton, Stephane Deschezeaux, Tuxedo & Zapp and Amp Fiddler.

Hour 2 saw me welcome Maison de House for a sultry and smooth hour of deep, funky house with a twist of disco, expertly mixed up for your listening pleasure. Jimmy B, AKA Maison de House currently has a weekly saturday show on Decadance in Brighton playing deep n funky house with a twist of disco. He first started listening to jazz funk and disco back in the 80ʼs and then house and his style is a fusion of the deeper sound mixed with dubby disco vocals. He’s done guest mixes for Midnight Riot, Feverball, Soundwave Podcasts, NDC Radio, Epic Radio, KRM… and now Funkier Radio! The vibes are high on this one, don’t miss it.
