Bio and Stuff:

A Lipstick Lumberjack, in the wild, lives with one foot in the forest and one in the city. 

Sam Sobelman had been collaborating with a number of Orange County artists, struggling trying to find a very particular sound. Nikki Coles had been singing with groups but had been writing songs that didn't fit the framework of their styles. The magic of the internet brought them together, and they immediately knew they had found the sounds they had been seeking. 

As Lipstick Lumberjack, the band, Sam Sobelman and Nikki Coles write songs that straddle the complex joys and sorrows of life in the city, and the serenity of life outside city walls. Through their folky pop and rock, they explore life's highs and lows, and the in-betweens. They have written an album, to be released sometime in 2014.
