For Marti Purull, music is connection: it is true that there would be no art without artists, but it is just as certain that, without an audience, there wouldn’t be any artists in the first place. Marti Purull puts the listener in the centre, making his fans, self-named Martians, part of the creative process. They may hand him sounds with which to experiment, they may become involved in the mastering process, create his artwork or choose the next single. He reciprocates by providing them with a private community, direct communication and an exclusive playlist with unreleased material.

Music is exploration too: every lyric is but a vehicle to the confines of the listener’s morality, every chord a ship to the core of their doubts. By layering electronic and acoustic instruments, mixing synthetic and organic sounds and bending language and imagery, Marti Purull creates intricate textures upon which his bass sings of light and darkness.

New Society, his debut record, is a concept album that explores the conquest of Earth by a superior alien race in its mission to save the planet as a viable habitat. In this scenario, the critical human must decide where their loyalty lies: is it with the righteous fair aliens or with their own flawed race?

Marti Purull is based in Edinburgh (Scotland), where he has built his third home studio, Soundship 3, where most of the New Society production took place.

Originally from Byron Bay and currently living in Melbourne, Camille made her musical debut with the haunting ‘A little gypsy song’ followed up by the feminist anthem ’…Because I was born a girl’, both receiving a warm reception from radio stations and publications.
