I've been a VJ both on television and in clubs since I was 15 years old.

I VJed mostly, but also DJed from time to time through out the years. I had the pleasure to DJ both a Duran Duran convention in 1998 and partially VJ the 1995 Adam & The Ants Convention in London, England. I also DJ for various venues through out the city over the years. I am currently the VJ for the Depeche Mode Fan Club New York in addition to planning my own events. 

As early as 1987 I have been making Music Video Remixes. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, I created two "fan videos" for Duran Duran. The first was "Hold Me" (a potential single that never made it) from the Notorious LP. Later in the early part of the 90's, I made a video montage for Simon LeBon’s one big hit, "Grey Lady and The Sea,” that to this day is considered the music video for the song. Later on I created proper Music Video Remixes from bands like Duran Duran, Big Audio Dynamite, Dead Or Alive, Madonna, George Michael, Adam Ant and most recently Depeche Mode. 


Music Madness New York Local TV Series (Original LIVE Call-In Show)
Circa September 1983 to May 1986

My show, Music Madness New York Local TV Series had its first run as a LIVE Cable call in show from September 1983 until May of 1986. It was Signed with Island Records in 1985 and other labels. The show was responsible for being one of the first music programs in America to ever air the original conceptual version of "Relax (Don't Do It)" that was banned in England and MTV at the time. "Music Madness" also aired the original version of the extended music video for "Two Tribes" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood that later had to be reedited due to a potential lawsuit. That particular version was never seen again, but "Music Madness" aired it before the controversy kicked in.

The series also included "Special" one episode tributes. Included in these "specials" were Adam and The Ants, The Power Station, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, and others. I’ll tip my hat to the original "Music Madness" crew circa 1983-1986 which included Joe Duffy (Crew/Reporter), Joe Farrington (Crew/Reporter for "The Top 10" segment), William Hohauser along with Steve Mack (Directors), Marcello Romero (Co-Host/Director), Wayne Wilson (Audio), William B. (Audio), Harlee Marrow, Kelly Bates and Carina Riscone (Phone Screeners) and Gabrielle Gonzalez (Make-Up) who made me look pretty on my finale show May 1986.

Music Madness New York Local TV Series had its Second Run from 1993-2002. 

It was a cable access TV Series I produced, directed, edited, did programming for, and hosted for over 10 years here in Manhattan (NYC). It was primarily a good source for hard to find, unseen music videos, but it also included a series of "Music Madness Specials.”

These specials included in-depth interviews, local coverage, and in some cases live performances. "A Perfect Day with Duran Duran" included an interview with the band and an EXCLUSIVE Roof Top Farewell to the fans in 1995 at New York's Sam Goody. "The Medazzaland Special" was an in-store record signing and interview with the band in1997. "The Pop Trash Special" in 2000 was also an in-store record signing, interview with the band and LIVE PERFORMANCE. "The Barking Mad Tour" Two Part Specials for Bow Wow Wow in 1998 included an in-depth interview and exclusive live performances. 

Also in 1998 I had a sit down interview with John Taylor from Duran Duran as solo artist, "Terroristen," in 1998. This three episode special entitled "John Taylor: Past, Present & Future" was the first time John told his side of the story of Duran Duran as well as his involvement with The Power Station, the late Robert Palmer and Tony Thompson, and “Neurotic Outsiders” with Steve Jones of The Sex Pistols.

My first major interviews for "Music Madness" in the 1990's were with Brit Indie group Suede (AKA "The London Suede") in 1995 and rockabilly band The Polecats in 1996 during their reunion tour of the states for the first time in about 15 years. The Polecats interview was with founding members Tim Worman (a.k.a Tim Polecat, vocalist) and Martin "Boz" Boorer (guitarist). Boz discussed not only his involvement with the reunion, but also his recent work with Morrissey over the years and his previous collaborative efforts with Marco Pirroni and Adam Ant on The "Wonderful" LP in 1995.

The following year of 1997 brought The Rockats to "Music Madness" for a three part special that's been broadcasted in America and Japan as segments (like John Taylor's specials). It was considered the document of the entire history of the band from the days of "Levi & The Rockats" to the present.

Another memorable moment that was really the first big special was "Music Madness: The 1994 Adam and The Ants Convention Special" parts 1, 2 & 3. It included an exclusive interview in London from The Drummer for Adam and The Ants, Terry Lee Miall. 

It was the first time Terry was interviewed for American television as a member of Adam and The Ants since 1981. Music Madness was the only American TV Program to cover the 1994 and 1995 Adam And The Ants Conventions in London. As a VJ, I also produced a 35 Minute episode specifically for the event in London. The episode included the world premiere of the "Beautiful Dream" music video from Adam Ant's "Wonderful" LP. Also at the 1995 convention I world-premiered an exclusive Music Video Remix that I had conceptualized for Adam Ant's "Apollo 9". The remix I used, which is a bit of a folk lore now, is titled "Apollo 9 (Splashdown Re-Mix)". There have been attempts to recreate this video, but the original Music Video Remix of this song was first premiered in 1995 for the convention, conceptualized and edited by myself. 

We also had exclusive world premieres of EPK's that aired for the first time on Music Madness from the likes of Adam Ant with "Wonderful" in 1995, The Sex Pistols Reunion "Filthy Lucre Live" in 1997, Depeche Mode's ULTRA in 1997, and "The Singles 86>98" Three Part Special in 1998.

Currently, the Music Madness T.V. series still exists as a occasional "Music Madness Special" that I produce and air from time to time. The regular weekly Series ended in 2003. Since then I have been producer, director, editor, programmer and host. I’m currently a director, Final Cut Pro 7 editor, event planner & video jockey. 

My latest effort was a event I hosted and performed as Video Jockey.

"The Official ADAM ANT AFTER-SHOW TRIBUTE NIGHT: “Adam Ant: An Evening of Antmusic For Sexpeople”. The event, slated for the 16th of August 2013 for those in the New York City area for Adam's IRVING PLAZA New York City Dates (August 16th and 17th) was a unique success. It was a celebration of Adam's entire history unlike anything America has ever seen. Adam Ant’s entire band showed up along with the entire opening act of Prima Donna. 

The SPECIAL TWO HOUR EXCLUSIVE WORLD PREMIERE VIDEO PRESENTATION was a blast with Antpeople dancing the “Prince Charming” and exclusive videos for “Cartrouble” and new version of “Zerox” music videos along with the unreleased live version of “Kings Of The Wild Frontier” from ”Live In Manchester, UK”. Also included was the ‘Antmusic’ vs. Kings Of The Wild Frontier (Mash Up Remix by Carty with edited visuals by VJ_Johnny_Blitz) which WORLD PREMIERE at this event along with the US Premiere of the music video remix for Apollo 9 Splash Down Remix edited by VJ_Johnny_Blitz.

The future? Planning to find a venue for a unique monthly 1980’s night. Being a native New Yorker I have an intimate knowledge of the club scene in the 80’s and want to bring some of that vibe and specific selections to share with today’s society along with 80’s classics. A specific blend I truly believe could be a valid addition to the New York Scene and unlike any “80’s Party” that has been before or since.
