Jon Rando is just your average random guy on the internet who makes a bit of music and art in his spare time.  Alright, that's enough of this 3rd person weirdness.

I make all this stuff with Jeskola Buzz and maybe some free VST's.  I started messing around with it in the late 90's as a teen and have sort of gotten back into it as a hobby in the last several years.  I also played drums in a garage band for many years and play a bit of guitar/bass as well, though none of that here.

In addition to dabbling with music, I also do a lot of photo manipulation stuff with GIMP as a hobby as well.  Most of the track art is stuff I have altered in some way or created from scratch.

In general, most of these songs are released under CC licenses and I have downloads enabled on most of the tracks.  So you are free to use something you like for your projects if you would like.

Born in Valencia in 1979, my first contact with music was as a bass guitar/singer in a Black/Death Metal band. When I turned twenty, while studying a Master Degree in architecture at Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Valencia (ETSAV), I decided to enrole the conservatory and study classical guitar. I had fun composing just by ear but gradually this lead into something more academic so, after finishing architecture and guitar studies, I moved to Barcelona in order to study music composition at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), where I graduated with honours. My approach to composition deals with silence, space and musical objects –all of them conceived from an abstract, "architectural" perspective–, but also with possible connections between popular (specially extreme Metal and electronic) and educated music.
 
I combine contemporary music composition with audiovisual one, working sometimes as a live electronics performer as well. Producer/artistic director in the contemporary music ensemble CrossingLines, I am also professor at Taller de Músics Escola Superior d´Estudis Musicals in Barcelona.
