LostinSound.org is excited to premiere the @DevinKroesmusic X @ResonantLanguage collaboration "Misty Peaks" from the forthcoming @chillagerecords compilation album Crunksauce Vol. 5  which features 20 different producers' creations covering a diverse range of genres, including artists such as Wu Wei, The Digital Connection, Spoken Bird, Secret Recipe and more. 

"Misty Peaks" is reminiscent of an early Emancipator production, but with a full dose of trip-and-drip-hop. Devin Kroes' reverberating acoustic guitar swirls in and around psy-breaks built by Colorado's Resonant Language.  The result is something beautifully cinematic and gripping that pours out slowly from the speaker. 

Chillage has been supporting the releases of west coast bass musicians for a number of years, and this fifth installment of their Crunksauce series was the first time they opened submissions to the public. Tunes from established producers and a handful of fresh faces fill the 19 track release. Chillage is releasing three tracks each week in various outlets before the March 29 official release date.

REMASTER from an old analog mixtape for the '2AM Side' of my second mix tape DESERT FUNK, best copy we could find!  Back when the Chemical Brothers were still the Dust Brothers, this one helped me finally land some local LA gigs after getting some initial interest as a resident Moontribe DJ.  All vinyl, and a little rough around the edges mix-wise as I was really just starting to DJ, this felt like when I was finally finding 'my sound' and things were starting to flow for me.  I think it also captures a bit of what was really a very special time in EDM and early LA underground dance culture which I feel so lucky to have been a part of.  Thanks again to Scott Cattanach for the fresh, original cover art, Ken Lawrence of Pure Acid Mixtapes for helping me spread the word, Moontribe for giving me a chance, LA DJ godfathers like Doc Martin, Steve Loria, and DJ Dan for their help and guidance, all the fans and promoters for their support, and of course the fabulous, rockin' artists who provide the music for this sonic journey.

With a lifetime of instrumental instruction and a storied progressive trance career through the Airi moniker under his belt, Tokyo-based producer Felix Ando has succeeded in carving out his own personal slice of the auditory hemisphere. His adoptive style is accentuated by his precision compositions in combination with novel production choices, culminating in his latest release; New Morning exemplifies matter over might, with a strong focus on the space between texture and tone. Applying the clear-coated aesthetic of soundsystem music to the animated nuance of glitch effects, Felix Ando achieves a balance between impact and intent. Touching on tempos from hip-hop, to breakbeat, to more ephemeral speeds, the record blends a heterogeneous mixture of electronic music into a homogeneous narrative of tracks. As such, New Morning is a choice addition to any discerning audiophile's collection, demonstrating Felix Ando's affinity for design and composition in previously uncharted territory.
