Ostgut Ton aficionado Anthony Parasole has helped keeping New York techno in the headlines over the last decade. The long time Halcyon store worker is not only a co-partner in Deconstruct Music with Levon Vincent, but he also runs his own no holds barred label, The Corner.  There is a very real sense of grit and streetwise attitude in everything he does, from the music he makes to the sets he lays down, and that raw energy never fails to consume all those who experience it. 

The podcast he serves up here is a near three hour live recording of him playing a warm up set on home turf at Output, New York.  As such it finds him really stretching his legs, starting out dark and atmospheric before journeying into more airy ambience, melodic slo jams and spaced out techno. Keeping a vibe alive for extended periods of time is no mean feat, but is something that Parasole truly excels as evidence here when he invites you deep down into his very personal rabbit hole.

As Max Kobosil gets set to release his debut album We Grow, You Decline on Ostgut Ton towards the end of the month, it's become abundantly clear through reading past interviews how much he values the end package not just with his music, but in everything he does. Telling XLR8R in a recent interview, the eleven tracks only make 50 percent of the album for him. It's interesting to read that the specific reasoning behind the artwork and track names will come packaged as text that needs to be decoded via the limited vinyl edition – providing context for the release in what's ultimately a more satisfying manner than say an interview might ever be. It's a wonderful attention to detail that perhaps harks back to buying records on Discogs in his early teens based on their artwork alone. Now at 24, with five releases to his name and an integral part to the Ostgut Ton family, it'd be fairly easy to fall into a vicious touring cycle with no real aim in sight, though he's confident that he's not yet reached his personal goals and that chasing ideals that may possibly never be reached makes this all the more interesting. The contents of Truancy Volume 137 may come as a bit of a surprise to some, but those familiar with his more experimental and abstract productions on RK3 will no doubt understand the want to explore this side of him in a mix format.

DJ Hell is just about to release his fifth studio album 'ZUKUNFTSMUSIK' and on December 24 you can look forward to a very deep and dark Christmas Eve as he drops the first single from the LP.

'I Want You' is an 11-minute epic that trembles with eerie fervour and the remix, well that gives it an even more menacing makeover. The Hacker is another undisputed pioneer and his remix is exactly what you'd expect from the hallowed Frenchman.

Victor Calderone launches 2017 at imprint Matter+ with a fiery three tracker from Anthony Cardinale AKA Avision. Cardinale follows up on releases from the likes of Diaz & Parrée, Joel Mull, Fractious and Calderone himself for the North American label.  The New York born, New Jersey-based producer/dj supplies three heavy hitters for the occasion, including 'Stunt'. Return of the mighty Jack Pattern on the highly collectable Lustapoderosa label. A lot like the world we currently occupy, Jack Pattern's sound heads darker on this release, recalling distant memories of dystopian nuclear wastelands, Total Recall-esque interplanetary life and the rise of AI machines. With a hefty collection of vintage drum boxes and weighty analogue synthesizers, the EP throbs and hums in all the right places, with UnknownMix singer Magda Vogel's vocals really doing the track on "Codex". Fans of that dark, electroid sound from Borft, Frak and Tillander will love this, as will general lovers of EBM and new beat. It's discordant but harmonious, jagged and mechanical but rhythmic and enveloping. It's absolutely brilliant but definitely not for the faint hearted!

Sol Selectas is pleased to welcome back Argentinian artist Ulises for his first solo EP, after contributing two amazing songs for our Summer Sol compilations. This EP contains four original songs, and three remixes. In the artists own words - “The concept of the Más Allá EP is an attempt to go beyond the boundaries of the mental experience, trusting our inner voice to guide us into the expansion of our being.” 

“Más Allá” tells the story of that psychedelic inner journey which leads to the dusty way of ego dissolution.  “Pineal” refers to our third eye, which connects our consciousness, with a higher energy source. “Sian” pays homage the magical land of Sian Kaan, famous for its sunsets in the lagoon. “Obelisk”  was inspired by a trip to Rome, where the looted Egyptian obelisks can be found all over the city, working as antennas of sacred energy.
 
For the remixes we welcome back to the label David Mayer from Germany, who crafts a beautiful version of “Sian”, picking up the tempo slightly, and injecting his signature Afro house groove. Mexican Roderic joins the label for the first time, delivering a smooth take on Obelisk, weaving the horns in and out, and building the tension on the final breakdown. And finally, we welcome Russian artists Geju to Sol Selectas, also for the 1st time. They transform “Pinneal” into an epic down tempo journey, which opens the third eye to a higher frequency. 

The artwork by Helia Jamali visualizes the music leading our conscious mind to a clearer recognition of the higher self.

Sol Selectas is very pleased to present  Re:Imagined album by Satori. This album features 3 originals from Satori, and 6 re-imagined songs  from the Sol Selectas back catalogue.  

Since the success of his remix of Unders’ “Syria” track in 2017, Satori has taken the dance music world by storm,  touring the globe both as a solo artist, and with his newly formed “Band from Space”, and holding a summer residency in Ibiza called “Maktub”.

Once a year in his hometown, Satori does a special 10 hour live set mixing his original music with songs by other respected producers.  It was during this 10 hour set that he literally Imagined the idea to produce an entire album of Sol Selectas back catalogue reworks.  With each Re:imagined song, Satori dives deep into the origins of the music, discovering the cultural influences, geographical location of the samples, and researching the roots of every sound present. The result is a musical composition which takes the listener on a true cultural journey around the globe, and back to the Universe itself. 


The artwork by Helia Jamali honors the origins and roots of the songs in the album, with elements  that represent each place, sound and vibe. The heavenly being seated travels between the stars and galaxies, reimagining time travel.

By the end of this damned 2020, Avacha Records delivers a fresh cassette named ‘’Emperor Sheikh’’ by Volta Cab. Konstantin Isaev aka Volta Cab is known for his productivity and passion for making oriental-oriented (sounds nice BTW) tunes. The EP is supported by Avacha resident Panorama Channel with a broken beat remix for ‘’Inspektor Krause’’ and an Italian producer A-Tweed with his version of the title track.

After a very good 2020, Logia Records begins 2021 with a pretty strong release. Chinosynth’s single “La gran ciudad (Original Mix)”, a very nice indie-dance track that smells like the 80’s.
This single does not come alone, it includes great remixes by DELLA, Favio Inker, XLR, and Renuna in collaboration with Playa del Karma.
The Argentine based in Barcelona DELLA, gives us a more electro version, with a little rave in it. On the other hand, Favio Inker with his version expands the range of melodies, one of his specialties. From Mexico, XRL brings a darker remix, on dark-disco’s way.
The last of the remixes, made by Logia’s members Playa del Karma and Renuna, is a techno version, born for the dancefloor.

Sol Selectas welcomes Russian artist Zuma Dionys back to the label, for his first solo EP, featuring 2 original tracks, and remixes by German Brigante and KEENE.

Zuma’s music is a balance between the ancient history of ethnic instruments, combined with the futuristic sound of synthesizers and drum machines, and together, the sonic textures of both past and present, tell us his story.
“Busurman” translates to foreigner. Like a stranger from the future, possessing technology light years ahead of the people of our time, he enters our tribe disrupting what we know to be true. The accordion and synthesizer sounds represent the dialogue between this foreigner, and the leader of the modern tribe. “Though the Valley” is a passage through mountainous desert dunes; a relaxing adventure which allows us time to soak in the beautiful landscape.

Both remixers appear on Sol Selectas for their first time, and propel the songs in exciting new directions. Spanish producer German Brigante takes a deeper pitched down approach on “Busurman”, adding a hypnotic bass line, deep pads, and emphasizing the vocals chants. KEENE, a Panamanian duo residing in Berlin, turn “Through The Valley” into an afro-house explosion, accelerating the energy level with exciting build ups and ethereal percussion.

The artwork by Helia Jamali symbolizes the journey, awakened by the spirit animal guiding our path, through the arches of time and space.
