Dreadsquad - Poland's staple Reggae Dancehall export


The Dreadsquad project has put Poland on the map for creating dancefloor friendly riddim and bassline madness. From the Superfly Studio in Lodz comes tune after tune combining Jamaican sounds of of Reggae, Dub, Dancehall, Ska and Rocksteady with the modern sounds of Breakbeat, Jungle, Dubstep and Garage.


Dreadsquad was launched during 2001 and what followed was a flurry of mashups, remixes and Polish Sound Clash victories which gave confidence to turn a passion into a way of life for the man at the controls, Marek Bogdanski. Hundreds of gigs in Poland turned into European tours and now Dreadsquad has toured as far as the USA, Canada, Brazil & India.


Always in demand, Dreadsquad has worked with plenty of top Jamaican and European artists including Ward 21, Tenor Fly, Top Cat, General Levy, U Brown, Milion Stylez, Lady Chann, Tipa Irie, Jah Mason, Perfect Giddimani, Dr Ring Ding…the list goes on.


So far Dreadsquad has released 4 mixtapes, 4 full-length producer albums and a host of vinyl and digital singles which made it into the top of the best DJ shops in Europe and into the playlists of the premier DJs of the world.

The Dreadsquad sound is a worldwide sound taking influence and inspiration from all walks of life. It is glued together by Jamaican Soundsystem culture and modern Bass music culture and is a force to be reckoned with.

Sol Selectas Records specializes in deep tribal dance music, mixing folkloric sounds and ancient rhythms with modern electronic grooves. Founded by DJ/Producer Sabo in New York City in 2006,  the label is now run by Sabo and his wife Helia Jamali, whose artwork and design  re-awakened the spirit of Sol Selectas, through her visual interpretation of the audio frequencies. 

With now over 115 releases, showcase events, and residencies around the World, Sol Selectas leads the way in organic house, downtempo, and afro house, consistently topping the charts and setting trends.

The label captures a vast spectrum of multi-cultural sounds, featuring both rising underground stars and industry legends like Acid Pauli, Sabo, Satori, Be Svendsen, Safar, and Unders.

Since 2012 Paris XY have developed their unique sound. Combining vocals and guitar with live analogue synths, drum machines and atmospheric soundscapes. Lyricism is brought to the fore, influenced by Joy Division, Radiohead and Edgar Allan Poe, subjected to Smith’s Blues powerful delivery. Orvis' production is rooted in Scandinavian and eastern European inspiration, predominantly Trentemøller, GusGus and The Knife. At Beacons festival and Galtres Paris XY supported Daughter, XXYYXX and British Sea Power on the Loud and Quiet stage, as well as playing between Morcheeba and Tricky. 2014 has also seen the duo on tour in Germany and Holland in July, showcasing in Berlin, and following that with the Poland dates supporting GusGus on their world tour; 6 soldout shows and a final date playing Berghain Main Club on September 24th.

Wytching Hour will be the band's 7th single release, leaving only EP004 left before the debut album in 2015. Following the disturbed psyche of the everyday man, the narrative indulges in debauched temptations of modern society. Take from it what you want, the ambiguity allows every listener to take their own dark path. Lyrics and music taunt each other, a pulsing bassline matched with the chanting vocal line weaves a hypnotic devilled dance.

Killa Familla - polska grupa wykonująca muzykę hip-hop. Powstała w 1997 w składzie Jerzy Stępniewski "Easy Jerzy", oraz Zbigniew Stępniewski "Zybi Funkovich". Pierwszą oficjalną publikacją zespołu był udział w składance “...Wszystko w rodzinie” w 1999.
W 2000 r. do braci dołączył Jacek Dzikowski "Dziki Doktor". Zespół zadebiutował w 2001 płytą „Supa Dupa Freestyle” wydaną przez wytwórnię Biodro Records. Od 2003 r. Easy Jerzy kontynuuje działalność zespołu samodzielnie.

Killa Familla - Polish group performing hip-hop music. It was founded in 1997 by brothers: Jerzy Stępniewski " Easy Jerzy " and Zbigniew Stępniewski "Zybi Funkovich". The first official publication of the band was the participation in the compilation "...Wszystko w Rodzinie" in 1999. In 2000 Jacek Dzikowski "Dziki Doktor" will join the team. Our podcast is a playground for Polish and global talent, where a diverse bass-driven beats are resonating with a much growing audience every day.
