Australian Techno producer Metapattern played his first show for us at Machine on May 19th 2018 and this is the result. No computer, just a drum machine and a modular set up for this performance. 100% improvised live techno.
Metapattern has spent a decade lecturing in sound design and live performance, as this is evident in the composition and approach to his music making and performance. MoShak, AKA Moscos, is an Iranian sound artist based in Australia. His ambient music project explores a broad sonic spectrum, from deep techno rhythms to emotive ambient soundscapes. With a focus on texture, emotional resonance, and experimental improvisation, Mo Shak crafts immersive auditory journeys that evolve with each performance. His work blends rich, layered textures and industrial tones, inviting listeners to experience sound as a tactile, evolving landscape where techno energy meets ambient depth.

When playing live he utilises Modular synthesisers and drum machines to create sound sets that take forms from seemly chaotic combinations that materialise in unexpected ways into captivating rhythmic structures.
