Newly relocated to Berlin, Australian DJ and producer Metapattern develops a sound that aims to integrate the many disciplines of techno, drawing on influences from the American, Scandinavian, Iberian and Central European regions.

The artist has released many tracks on various labels such as Machine Label (AU), Raven Sigh (CAN), Occult Rhythms (FR / NL) and Måinmise Records (FR). In recent years, the musical path has been more aggressive, however, by joining the Argentine label Krill Music as a partner and artist, Metapattern has shifted its emphasis towards groove and hypnotic melodies.

Hypnobombia is a Helsinki based, techno-centric ensemble formed by Valo Elios   and Jaakko Huotari, whose focus is on love for techno music. Since their founding in 2016, the duo has channeled their 20+ years of techno experience into crafting a unique sound that marries the intensity of night-time techno with lighter, more ethereal elements. Their music is known for its rich layers of darkness, humidity, and relentless groove.

Their tracks are distinguished by small, crunchy details that create a sense of suspense, evoking the sensation of thin ice cracking during a storm. They build subliminal, almost scientific atmospheres with a perfectly swinging groove, while their rolling drums—lift the beat as if it were airborne. Hypnobombia’s approach reflects a commitment to modern, subliminally charged deep techno, blending timeless elements with a fresh, trend-resistant production style.

The Metapattern project is a hardware machine-based approach to live performance and production including elements of techno, noise, industrial, modular, drone, melody, and atmosphere.

Metapattern, an Austrian born long-term resident of Australia is based in the city of Brisbane. Time is divided between producing techno under the main alias Metapattern and newly formed duo Voidfil. The focus is on hardware machine-based approach to live performance and production including elements of techno, noise, industrial, modular, drone, melody, and atmosphere. 2018 has been a key year for the project, finding a home in Machine Label for the deeper style releases.

Outside of production and performance, Metapattern is involved with a local live electronic music collective who promote diverse electronic music experiences. As an Ableton Certified Trainer, he works to foster new talent through user group meetups and has been involved with teaching for a decade at SAE Creative Media Institute. The obsession with the techno culture leads to many trips to neighbouring cities and international expeditions.

Suicide Podcast 51 : METAPATTERN

Peter Trimbacher aka Metapattern is professionally active in the electronic music scene since more then 15 years now, as performing artist, label owner, event promoter and educator. 

The certified Ableton trainer, currently teaching at Noisy academy, is a true wizard when it comes to techno in all its facets – hypnotic, deep, dark, hard, industrial, broken, polyrhythmic – you name it, he's delivering.

We're glad he managed to record this mix for our podcast ahead of his debut show at our club this weekend. With this recording he intent to represent the flow of his hybrid sound, but on the harder side to match the motto for the 12 hour rave happening this Friday. (more info below)

The energy of this music is designed to engage listeners in a spiral or tunnel of repeating, merging and shape shifting patterns. Moods range from minimal, melodic, uplifting, dark and industrial.
