Constellations

A hybrid orchestral piece intended to be used as a soundtrack for movie (or game) scenes with themes of pain, tragedy, disaster, grief of cosmic proportions.

Slow block chords played on organ (both church and electric) indicate seriousness of the situation. A haunting, retro-style synth plays a melody with a frantic rhythm that suggest a deep loss and connected sorrow. Underlining drone on strings and choir keeps the piece together and suggests that despite the unimaginable pain, we'll endure. Piano in high registers provides ear candy that purposefully distracts from the sadness. A chorus part on the viola combined with chimes brings hope to the picture.
