Analog Dreaming

MINDSAI is my 10th release and I really am so proud of it. It is also the second release in a trilogy of tracks that shine a light on mental health issues that are all too commonplace today. The ‘Genetic Disorder’ series started with YOKAI, which more broadly looks at the inner demons that people face, in a world that was not built for them.

With MINDSAI, I wanted to explore the misunderstood, difficult and often unpredictable life that Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) creates.

Broadly speaking, BPD affects 1 in 100 people globally and whilst the precise causes are unclear, it is thought to be associated with childhood trauma. It affects how people think, feel and how they interact with others. It manifests in emotional disregulation, highs and lows, emotional pain and impulsive behaviour.

So with MINDSAI, and consistent with the sound I have tried to develop, the track has a variety of changes that represent the different emotional states of someone who is suffering with BPD.

I wanted to challenge myself with creating a 1 chord track, which I'd never done before. This one has some deep & meditative summertime vibes with a warm blend of chillwave/indie & chillsynth. It gives me a sense of pulsing, unconscious flow/glow, thus the name. Hope you enjoy.
