The songs were recorded over time in a basement in London, with additional drums recorded by Tuomas Hakkarainen in Helsinki. Finally, the music was mastered during a long overnight session with Kolski in a church in Basingstoke to great result.

Seven for a Secret (not to be told) was inspired by the traditional children's nursery rhyme One for Sorrow. The nursery rhyme is based on an old superstition, which states that the number of magpies one sees determines if one will have bad luck or good luck. 

A common version of the rhyme is the following one:

One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret,
not to be told.
Eight for Heaven, 
Nine for Hell,
Ten for the devil's own sell.
