The river weaved its way through the forest, navigating neighbourings villages and grazing animals that had made themselves at home on the banks. If it had eyes, it would have many secrets and stories to tell; much had taken place along this stretch of water over the years. Though these stories would continue to fade into history and in memory, the river would always keep flowing. 

On his debut album 'Terre Promise', Brittany based producer and DJ Blutch explores the groovier side of his tastes, drawing influence from the UK's rich electronic music history, from breakbeat to UKG and electronica. On the second single from the LP 'River' Blutch reaches euphoric heights marrying elements of leftfield breakbeat and emotive house, backed by remixes from Ellum and Astropolis Records affiliate Madben and Global Warming Records boss Malcolm.

Paris-based imprint @globalwarmingrec starts the decade looking at the future, with a bass-infused Various that compiles four avant-garde club bullets from artists and friends close to the label.
The release is opened by @malcolmaudio , curator of the EP and label honcho, who gives the mood with a slomo post-rave break, where ethereal vocal samples, acid pinches and a loud reese bass are smashed by a hostile kick storm.
Then, the one-man band performer and unpredictable producer Ouai Stéphane delivers an epileptic reinterpretation of his drum and bass roots. His signature bleeping sounds and self-made vocals elements are here chopped over by a frantic pump bass and complex drum patterns. A landmark for the guy.
After what, the dark child Slowglide, previously heard on Antinote or Comic Sans Records makes here his Global Warming debut, delivering the perfect anthem for Gotham City nightclubs, merging industrial mood and codeine effect into one.
Finally, closing the whole thing, Parisian badman Jon Beige delivers a mental half-time gabber creature, where a bone-crusher rythmic section blends with thrilling industrial jams, sci-fi atmospheres and a haunting vocal, at the speed of light.

Formerly known as Bwana, Toronto producer Nathan Micay has shown he means business under his birth name, releasing on Whities, ESP Institute and his own imprint, Schvitz Edits. Following impressive reworks and his fantasy narrative-inspired debut album, ‘Blue Spring’, which came out on LuckyMe last year, Micay has turned his attention to Rinse France resident Malcolm’s ‘Badman’, giving it a ‘I’ll Have What I’m Having’ breakbeat spin. “Snare rolls and syncopation are the name of the game with this remix,” Nathan Micay says. “Tried to make it as shifty as possible.
