They say that there are 64 ways to launch yourself into space – whatever space may be. Perhaps you could soar or fly in a rocket or aeroplane beyond the clouds and into the pearly black abyss beyond. Perhaps you could catapult yourself upwards from the earth below or perhaps you could simply fall asleep and drift between the stars a million miles away.

Back down here they all seemed like grand, exciting ideas for the few rather than the many.

However, maybe one day they might all be able to dance together amidst the cosmos and remember a time way back when… back when they were all rooted to the ground.

Amsterdam duo Dam Swindle return with new music on their own Heist Recordings. This time they have invited influential powerhouses of dance music to reimagine their material, a track titled ’64 Ways’ which features Mayer Hawthorne.

Nightmares On Wax and Dj Bone have both been enlisted to rework the song, picking it apart and piecing it back together to offer their own respective takes on the vision. Listen to the Nightmares on Wax version below:

The duo from Tel Aviv are long partners of I'm a Cliché. Edit Service #2 or #29 are memorable edits of the series. They also released 5 eps with the label, and their first LP Ballad of the Ice in 2014.

Ominous synths, spoken word and an atmosphere that conjures images of dystopian horror. A slow pulse of a beat that gradually picks up and funcky guitar licks: there’s light at the end of tunnel as the edit goes from dark to hedonistic. 10 blissful minutes crafted with class by French producer Roman Azzaro under his Rouge mécanique alias.

This edit is the first collaboration between the Berlin-based French producer and I'm a Cliché.

Tomorrow

The distant island was vanishing beyond the range of sight. It was a hypnotic paradise upon which they had spent an eternity, however, now it was time to go. The raging waters swarmed murkily around their tiny shell of a boat. "Paradiso" was the cry as the waters rose ominously around them. The wooden frame shook violently as they huddled together, this was to be the end of island life and their voyage may offer precious little respite from the crushing storm. "Paradiso" was the cry.

It is with some delight that we are now able to bring you an exclusive premiere of a new track on Ransom Note Records. This one has already received wide scale support and critical acclaim with sales moving very fast indeed. Smagghe and Cross take us on a tour of 'Paradiso" accompanied by the vocals of David Junto & Emily Evans.

The noise rattled within the jungle. The green leaves bounced in time with the beat as nature sprung to life in the morning sunshine. The damp rose between the trees turning to steam in the heat of the morning glow as wildlife scattered between the beanstalks. The sky was a dreamy shade of pink but it would soon be blue, much like the waters which surrounded the tropical island. This was paradise and a place called home.

It is with much delight that we are able to premiere an exclusive new track from Superpitcher on Hippie Dance. Keep an eye out for more Hippie Dance affiliated content in the coming weeks. That's a hint.

The cave was illuminated with the glow of flickering torches. The walls were lined and engraved with ancient markings indicative of tradition and bygone heritage. This was a special place within which magic happened, the caves of Wabi Sabi. Many had sought entry to the sacred prism but had struggled to break through the intricate rock structure. Now as they looked down upon the space they wondered if they might ever leave. Who would want to return to the outside world?

Jakam is next up on Malka Tuti delivering an intriguing EP. He is remixed by good family friend of Ransom Note, Moscoman.

The wide hallways echoed with the sound of footsteps upon the marble floor. The pitter patter reverberated and bounced between statues and elegant decor. This was a museum of old and new art, of old and new people and of past meets present. They wandered aimlessly along vast sprawling corridors taken in by the luxurious paintings and the hollow technology which illuminated it all. Perhaps museums had been better in a past life, not like they were now. 

Malka Tuti is set to release a new LP from Die Orangen in the coming weeks. Titled "Zest" the release will be available from the 18th of July.

The eighth piece of The Golden Ravedays puzzle will be released on Hippie Dance in August 2017. Number 8 of the series introduces two tracks that will take you to the far side of somewhere you’ve never been before. They are both reminiscent of outer space blues playing spooky games in a dust bowl.

Side A features Tuesday Paris Texas a tastefully arranged track with vintage sounds passing nonchalantly through a wild western aural landscape. The music is announced like a cowboy movie dual complete with bar doors swinging on rusty nails in slow motion. Mournful guitar strings swirl over a steady horseback galloping beat, expanding into a full-on-fire dance track. Halfway through a woman’s haunted voice appears and disappears like an eerie siren, a gunshot is fired (was that a gunshot?), a man whispers “what!?” Tuesday Paris Texas is in no hurry to give an answer.

The jungle was alive with the sound of music, distorted and loud it echoed through the trees. The drums of passion banged loudly amidst the midnight hour as the villagers danced and chanted in a glorious display of love and adoration. The leaves of the trees cast strange shadows across the soggy ground as the rain began to pitter patter in the puddles beneath. The night air smelt like the wild flowers and strange plants which grew all around, she began to dance.

Our brother Bawrut has released a new EP on Lyon based record label Hard Fist. A beautiful collaboration between good friends we are delighted to be able to showcase this one.

The 'Runway Edition' plays host to Anna's own vocals, and was recently featured as the soundtrack to Gal Shenfeld's spring/summer collection 'Heroes' at Tel Aviv Fashion Week 2018.

Following last year's 'Kiyadub' EP, Andrew Weatherall returns to Byrd Out later this month with a brand new 12". Having invited his mate Andy Bell (y'know, him out of Ride) round to his studio to buy a Les Paul, Andrew suggested that he test the guitar out over a track he was working on, which then became the b-side here 'Making Friends With The Invader'.

We're very happy to be premiering the title track 'Blue Bullet', a trippy, dubbed-out construction with a surprisingly affecting melody which tunnels under your skin and refuses to leave.

The behaviour was closely monitored by closed circuit television. Each individual was under surveillance and would be for a long time to come, it had been their own choice, their own decision and the prize at the end of the experiment would act as their reward. In the meantime they were simply a human pattern, a pathological test by which science would hope to benefit in the long run. Inside the lab a group of observers watched on with promise and intrigue, who would fold first?

Compost Records are celebrating a spectacular 25 years in the business with the release of a 10 x 12” box set in 2019. They've drawn for the big guns who do not hold back on delivering the goods. Roman Flugels remix of Beanfield is a must.

What we gonna do right here is “Go Back”, way back. It not only reminds of an Arthur Russell vibe, it has the de facto ingredients of Arthur Russell’s highly acclaimed garage sound: naturally Steven Hall aka Nirosta Steel was the guitarist and/or singer of Arthur Russell’s hits “Is It All Over My Face”, “In The Light Of A Miracle” or “Tell You Today”. Nirosta Steel met up with DJ, producer and Chinese record shop owner Tomasz Guiddo, who had a previous Compost Disco release. When Kalabrese heard the original, he said it reminded him of a hidden Talking Heads track. Kalabrese has delivered his typical live-made disco-tinged joy ride, with its hypnotic groove and clever dubbed out electronics.

SB PREMIERE: Tomasz Guiddo with Nirosta Steel - Go Back (Kalabrese Remix) [Compost Disco]

The wallpaper had peeled off the walls of the grand entry hall, revealing the damp wood of the palace's framework. Over time this place had become an empty shell, the exterior now covered in dark green ivy. Once upon a time people had journeyed from across the country to visit this wonderful residence for elegant parties, the kind that were beyond imagination. A spectacle, a fun fair, a place where general debauchery was encouraged and no secrets left the building. Now this place had been forgotten, merely a distant memory that may have always been a dream. 

Following releases on Lobster Theremin and Jungle Gym, Russian producer Marco Lazovic lands on Prague via Sydney label Beef Records. Influenced by 90s rave and breaks, Lazovic has crafted four electro cuts. Tel Aviv DJ and producer Olsvangèr flips Eklektic Disco into a groove-driven house cut that's going to do the business on the dance floor.

Wandering amidst the jungle he was surrounded by all sorts of creatures from far and wide. They had followed him this far, Cobby and his animals. Many of them had travelled from far and wide to stand in the grace of his presence, it seemed as if they were drawn to his being lby some sort of strange force which came from beyond. He was sent from the heavens, down to earth to save them from the torment and peril which was to come. Now as a hundred strong creatures of the world marched between the trees, they knew they would be safe. 

Patrick Conway is set to release a new heater of an EP on Fusion Diagnostics, a label with good promise. The EP comes equipped with prominent remixes from Luca Lozano and Brainwaltzera who reimagine the music in a whole new light.

Splashes of faint claret and a network of rusted hooks make for tasteful decor given the BDSM-themed nature of the evening. Once home to old men in blood-soaked aprons, each month, the now derelict meat locker plays host to ’alternative’ 24-hour parties, away from the prying eyes and suffocating restrictions of more traditional clubbing. The collective four millimetres of space between hundreds of muddled bodies makes dancing heated work, marking those with most skin on show as the wisest of the group. Beyond the dimly-lit dance floor in secluded corners are even darker rooms, reserved for hidden intentions.

Legendary British-label Phantasy are manning the release of Cowboy Rhythmbox's next transmission, a mind-bending take on their own '6am Cowboy' from Detroit's Sharif Laffrey, plus a remix of the remix from the London-based duo, with their ‘Deviation Variation'. The two-tracker features an ‘Inception’-level premise and an excellent example of how artists inspire each other's creative process. Our pick ‘Sharif Laffrey’s Deviation’ is a 14-minute reworking of CR’s ‘Terminal Madness' EP, with it’s best elements stitched together in this Frankenstein’s monster of a tech-house track.
