Imam Busiri composed the Qasidah Burdah as an expression of deep devotion and gratitude after being miraculously healed from paralysis through the Prophet’s intercession in a dream. The dhikr includes group Quranic recitation in the ancient ‘tahazzabt’ style, supplicating by the 99 Names, various salawat upon the Prophet peace be upon him, qasidas (poems of praise sung in melodious voice), and adhkar from the Book and the Sunna.
