Artminding is about creation, people and processes. About music and us. Expressing ourselves with everything but words – Artminding will bring together a variety of electronic music as well as playful but minimalistic artwork and ideas in order to originate an open-minded and diverse community.
Chosing a six track various artists vinyl compilation for the label kickoff gives hints in terms of the spectrum of the aspired art inside the electronic music genre. “Künstlerische Freiheit” therefore welcomes international artists like Murat Uncuoglu from Istanbul and Tenvin from Toronto. Berlin will be represented by Matchy and Daniele Di Martino as well as Annett Gapstream and Max von Sternberg. 

With “Stellar and me” Berlin based producer and DJ Max von Sternberg releases his next track on a vinyl. He combines another haunting melody with an all flowing groove. This powerful combination lets his track seem way faster than its actual 118 bpm.

Florian Herzberg is the man behind My Secret Playground. When giving his 3-tracker-debut on JEAHMON! Records a headline we would choose this: "A Berlin Melange". Again and again Florian is drawn to his hometown Vienna. A city full of old glory and vanity, a spirit of optimism and standstill in the same way. On his new EP "NOSTALGIA", the now Berlin-based producer combines these opposites in three Electro and typical 1980s tracks. Rolling aggressive beats are replaced by broad synths and strings. Pounding kick drums paired with nostalgic vocal lines make the leap into the 21st century and give My Secret Playgrounds EP its own contemporary Indie Dance sound. Swiss-born DJ and producer Dario D’Attis joins forces with longtime collaborator Haldo for the latest release on Poker Flat Recordings, following on from Back To The Old (2025 on Poker Fkat).. 

Naku is a deep, groove-driven cut that grew from a hypnotic bassline and is elevated by the magnetic vocals. Blending timeless house sensibilities with rich Afro-inspired textures, the track is both soulful and primed for the dancefloor.

"I’ve been working with Haldo in the studio for almost 20 years." says Dario D'Attis. "He’s one of my favorite musicians. We always record what we play and then I let myself be inspired by the recordings in my studio and just make my cuts. Naku actually grew out of the baseline."

Adding to the release, UK house legend Atjazz (Martin Iveson) delivers his signature Galaxy Aart rework, presenting both a stunning remix and a stripped dub version. His remix deepens the original’s hypnotic pull, layering textures and intricate rhythms that showcase his unmistakable touch.

Alex Niggemann’s new EP 'Hurricane' (Balance Music) follows up the AEON label boss & producer's recent success, the stunning ‘Balance Presents…’ compilation, which dropped in October 2016. 

The upcoming EP features the exclusive track 'Hurricane (Club Mix)’, alongside the original, a new original 'Silhouettes & Sparks', plus remixes from Deetron & Denis Horvat.

Niggemann is forever breaking new ground. Where the compilation allowed him to curate a story through the medium of 'the mix', ‘Hurricane’ showcases the beginning of a new chapter for his melancholic-pop-driven alter ego 'The Shadow Self'. Both original tracks on the release are emotive melodies where thoughtful composition and vocals are key. 

‘I have been working on music like this for a while,’ Alex says. ‘As an artist, it’s important to reinvent myself, explore uncharted territory and have a wider view of how music can sound and how differently you can do things. This EP mirrors the music that I listen to when I’m traveling or relaxing; having a break from 4x4 beats, which usually rule my world. This also inspires me when I come back to produce House/Techno. 

‘It’s great that I can use this platform to introduce my new project ‘The Shadow Self’ to show a different ‘me’ on a label that transcends musical borders and supports the freedom of music as art… as art doesn’t have borders.’

'Hurricane' will be released on Friday 3rd February on Balance Music.

Silhouettes & Sparks feat. Hendrik Burkhard (Denis Horvat Remix)

Marco Resmann returns to Watergate after a productive stint at the Red Bull Music Studios in Cape Town with two stellar cuts featuring local heroes Deep Aztec and Black Soda. Tack on a remix from the one and only Oliver Huntemann and another revision from Resmann himself and you have the Babylon Side EP. 

Teaming up to kick things off, Resmann, Black Soda and Deep Aztec embrace the cultural sounds of Africa's organic percussion and vocal prowess to create a tour de force tune perfectly balance between flashing club lights and vast open skies. Following suit, Abadala sees Marco again with Deep Aztec for a lush ride into deep emotional spaces by applying mesmerizing syncopated rhythms and spellbinding vocals ideal for deeper or more sentimental dance floor moments. 

Up next is Techno legend Oliver Huntemann who, playing after Resmann earlier this year at the 15 years of Watergate event at Warung Beach Club in Brazil enjoyed his set and the two hit it off, so logically he was asked to lend his trademark sound for a revision of Babylon Side and he twists the original into a heavy Techno belter complete with sinister sonics and fever inducing sirens. Wrapping things up is Marco Resmann himself with his own take on Babylon Sides and delivers a wild and twisted version of gargantuan low end and psychedelic shimmers of the original vocal resulting in a killer tune with a ton of attitude.

Marco Resmann (Upon.You Berlin) Biography

Berlin. The mid 90s. The home and the heart of electronic music with its flourishing scene embracing all kinds of genres from Techno to House and beyond, with tapes on circulation, regular radio shows and an annual climax named Loveparade.

Brought up on this wide ranged diet of electronic sounds Marco Resmann started to work on what should become his profession of the future. Led by his neverending love for House Music he stepped up on stage, eventually started to promote parties and built his Audiogain studio where he continuously honed and refined his production skills on analogue gear.

Soon this steady work paid off in form of a first release on Martin Landsky's Intim Recordings as well as other highly acclaimed 12“es under his former artist alias Phage. Around this time in the mid-noughties Marco Resmann also became part of the production force named Pan-Pot which redefined the trippier side of Minimal Techno in these days. 

Apart from these projects, it was another fruitful collaboration that was meant to last. After meeting and immediately clicking with Norman Weber they started to DJ together on a regular basis before they joined forces in the studio, establishing their project Luna City Express as a main project of Moon Harbour Recordings with numerous EP's, Remixes and a widely praised album named Hello From Planet Earth, all of them providing tasteful, open minded House Music from Germany.

Backed by this experience and an excellent reputation as a DJ Marco Resmann joined the world famous Berlin-based Watergate club as resident in 2006 and has played countless nights in this hallowed space ever since as well as graced the tenth anniversary volume of the Watergate Mix-CD series with a flawless tour de force ride through his personal club favorites and anthems in February 2012 – a mix that can be considered a milestone in his remarkable career so far. 

As solo producer his discography includes acclaimed remixes and releases on imprints like Watergate Records, Upon.You, Poker Flat and the Brazilian imprint Warung Recordings, all of which are serving a unique fusion of House and Techno with a recognizable twist and a love for detailed, complex arrangements.

But there's even more to Marco Resmann than being the expert producer who fully masters his craft and DJ who is playing out to devoted crowds on a regular. Hosting Upon.You label nights at Berlin's famous Panorama Bar for six years has played an essential role in Marco Resmann's approach towards extended DJ sets with whom he pleases crowds all over the globe – from German festival sites like Fusion and Melt! to internationally renowned venues like DC10, Upon.You showcases all over Europe or the big 20 Years Watergate Brazil tour which took place in Brazilian superclubs like Surreal Park, D-Edge, Cultive and many others. Not to mention upcoming tours in Australia, Mexico and, again, Brazil where he is greeted by an especially dedicated, loving followership whenever he touches down in this part of the world.

As co-founder of the Berlin-based Upon.You Records, one of the major forces in the international club scene since 2007, Marco Resmann has been spotting upcoming talent and consistently invested dedicated, straight-up work in the house he and his labelmates have built.

With his most recent release „Box In A Box EP“ which will be released on his own imprint end of November - it's quite right to say that Marco Resmann is going stronger than ever, armed and fully equipped for an amazing 2023 to come. Watch out!
