Free/drone/acid folk, often visited by the Greek blues. May also contain traces of free improv, noise, primitive instrumental & other psychedelic musics. Solo recordings mostly six-string bouzouki, with and without electricity.

Various instruments in other obscure projects including Melbourne duos The Drunken Boat and Bourgeois Bigots, and a bunch of stuff in Hobart including The Lean Inns, Untermorast, The For Now and Soundtracks Will Dissolve.

Solo/band releases on Chemical Imbalance, Albert's Basement, Doctor Guten Tag and Frustration Jazz, the last of which is a label I run.

Improvised, exploratory & otherwise out. Started in Naarm/Melbourne by a Tasmanian and now based back in the island state. Not a jazz label. Not afraid of contradiction.

Satoshi Sugiyama creates handmade books and music with his family in the small studio “Bonami” in Manazuru, Japan. He learned letterpress printing, hand-binding and playing the guitar on his own.
6 books and 3 music albums were released by Bonami so far.

On the one side noise canteen means an open musical concept. It deals with the genre of noise music, but includes a wide range of musical styles and creative, sound-based practices. On the other side it refers to the real spatial situation. The initiators of noise canteen are architects. They use the strong spatiotemporal character of sounds for their so called ‘live sound building’.
It influences the spatial situation with particular properties in a very straight way. With techniques of failure, indeterminacy and improvisation they turn a location into another one. It means: noise canteen could be everywhere.
