Claudio Malz is an up-and-coming DJ and music producer 
Claudio’s journey into the world of electronic music began in his early years. Born and raised in Argentina, Claudio was exposed to music from a young age. With a natural ear for rhythm and melody, he gravitated towards electronic music during his teenage years, particularly the sounds of house and techno that were shaping the global dance music scene.

Inspired by the groove-driven sounds of tech house and deep house, Claudio began experimenting with production software, learning the intricacies of music production and sound design. His passion for dance music and the energy of the club scene led him to develop a sound that would eventually become synonymous with his name: deep, infectious grooves, and punchy basslines paired with catchy vocal chops and dark, minimalistic elements.

An original raver, Mark began DJing in 1986. He started playing raves in Toronto back in 1994. Mark Grimace was part of some of the city’s most legendary original rave crews, playing everything from warehouse parties and festivals, to the city’s best clubs. Mark has also toured extensively across North America. His journey has had him sharing the stage with some of the scene’s earliest pioneers and biggest stars. 

In 2016 Mark and his family relocated to Winnipeg. He didn't skip a beat. Mark immediately became involved in Winnipeg's dance music community, both as a selector and facilitator.

Mark is just as active behind the scenes as he is behind the decks, helping bring people together to grow the community at large. Mark’s infectious energy captivates crowds wherever he goes. With over 30 years as an active and dedicated DJ, he's developed an eclectic style with top-tier technical ability. Mark's sets flow seamlessly from genre to genre, moving from broken beats to 4/4 and all points in between. Mark Grimace is as comfortable at a club or festival as he is playing at a dirty warehouse. A passionate ambassador of rave's roots music, “Mark's dedication to honoring the past while looking to the future create lasting, emotional experiences for the dancefloor. "

I have always been an audiophile, that is the result of growing up with a father who has a thing for big sound, not such a bad trait to inherit. My love of sound grows from there, often as a child needing the music to be playing so I could occupy my mind as I fell asleep. 

In the late 90's (96/97) and I had my first experience with turntables and vinyl. I was hooked and in 1998 bought my first vinyl, and played actively till moving digital... through the 2010's I played with a fully digital setup, but gave up on chasing software updates... fast forward to 2024 and I am back to the pure analogue sounds of vinyl, the PlayDifferently Model 1.4 mixer and my trusted 1200s. 

From day one I have always been a techno fiend with my greatest influences coming from the London Acid Techno scene (SUF, Cluster, 4x4, etc), Sweden (Adam Beyer, Cari Lekebusch, etc) and probably the biggest influence being Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman and Detroit Techno. 

Armand-Emile is symbolic of who I am and my sound is a blend between House, Deep House, Tech House, Techno and Minimal ... some times even venturing into more progressive sounds.. It's all about the crowd and the dance floor and finding that groove.
