About Jamy Wing:

Geboren und aufgewachsen in der Umgebung Jenas, beschäftigte er sich schon in jungen Jahren mit Musik und entdeckte das Keyboard spielen für sich. Fasziniert von elektronischer Musik dauerte es nicht lang und Daniel zog es nach lokalen und regionalen Clubbesuchen deutschlandweit. Das Interesse war geweckt, die erste Platte gekauft und schnell wurde dies zu einer Art Sucht. Mehr und mehr hingezogen zu dieser Leidenschaft, entspringen eigene Gedanken und Ideen.
 
Begonnen hat alles mit einer kleinen Künstlervereinigung namens „Verwandelte Welten“, bis er dann zu eigenen Projekten überging. 2008 tritt Daniel den Residentposten im Manga Club (Jena) an. Im selben Jahr kam der erste Remix für befreundete Künstler auf den Markt und ein paar Monate später stand die erste eigene Single auf Einmaleins Musik an. Schnell waren da auch andere Labels die gefallen an seiner Musik fanden und so kam der Stein ins rollen. Mittlerweile ist er fest integriert bei Sonido Records (Frankfurt), Einmaleins Musik (Berlin), OFF Records (Berlin) und einem Thüringer Label mit Namen Polynom (Weimar).
 
Seine Musik beschreibt sich aus zwei grundlegenden Bausteinen, zum einen Techno und andererseits charakterstarke Klänge voller Harmonie und Bodenständigkeit aus der Sparte House.

2013 should be a vintage year for Timo Maas. Over the next 12 months, he’ll release this, his long awaited new artist album, Lifer, featuring Mikill Pane, Placebo’s Brian Molko, U.N.K.L.E’s James Lavelle, Katie Cruel and more; he’ll celebrate 10 years as a resident at DC10 in Ibiza; welcome new artists to his Rockets & Ponies imprint, and continue to reinforce his reputation as one of German electronic music’s most colourful characters.

Prior to this, however, Timo will satisfy his first love – the dancefloor – with ‘Pop A Bubble’, his own original contribution to Cocoon’s 100th release compilation, and remixes for James Teej on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth label and Johnny Mikes on Lower East Records; reworkings that add to a remix pedigree that includes Madonna, Depeche Mode, Muse, Fatboy Slim and beyond.

For those that have followed the trajectory of Maas’ previous 2 artist albums (Loud and Pictures), Lifer contains yet more wildly divergent collaborators, from Brighton chanteuse Katie Cruel (formerly of We Fell To Earth and now signed to Rockets & Ponies), who weighs in with the haunting ‘Articulation’, the gritty rap delivered by rising one-to-watch, Mikill Pane on ‘Grown-Up’, through to Placebo singer Brian Molko’s contribution to ‘College 84’, while James Lavelle delivers a primo vocal on the dramatic ‘The Hunted’ (the only vocal he’s done outside of U.N.K.L.E). Ever at ease straddling the somewhat disparate worlds of underground electronic music culture and credible muso pop, Timo and his production partner, Santos, created Rockets & Ponies for both their own productions, and outings from the likes of Maetrik, Tobi Neumann, Riva Starr, Giorgio Roma and more. The success and variety of the label’s output has undoubtedly impacted on Lifer, giving it a broader range of influences and styles than any of his previous albums. The result is a collection that shows Timo Maas is at the very top of his game.

Few DJs and producers have had the longevity and success that Jerome has had throughout his career and even fewer can lay claim to having graced such esteemed labels as Planet-E, Drumcode, Defected and Renaissance to name but a few. On the ‘Bicept’ EP Jerome Sydenham takes time out from running his renowned house imprint Ibadan Records to deliver the fantastic four track ‘Bicept EP’ for Desolat.

The EP kicks off with ‘Bicept’, a driving house track with incessant warm bass which cleverly builds through smartly placed additional crisp percussion and short echoing vocal snippets.  

Jerome demonstrates his production expertise on ‘This Door’, injecting the track with some serious funk, combining uplifting keys and warm pads, resulting in a track that has all the right ingredients to be one of the anthemic house records of the Summer.

‘With The Bone’ is another Dancefloor focused track, combining sharp stabs, a meandering synth and a short sharp vocal to devastating effect.

Rounding off the EP, ‘The Jockey’ sees Jerome combine brilliantly with the Berlin based Greek producer Quell, whose debut album was released on Ibadan recently. ‘The Jockey’ is a hypnotic and hedonistic journey, complete with pumping percussion, rolling vocals and raw sounds perfectly suited to move a packed club.

Overall then, on the ‘Bicept EP’ it is evident that Jerome Sydenham has drawn upon all his years of experience to craft a fine debut record for Desolat full of rich textures, subtle details and striking sounds.
