Renowned 9/11 whistleblower, researcher and author, Kevin Ryan, compares the official responses to the two most transformative events of the 21st century – September 11th, 2001 and the coronavirus worldwide pandemic.  He begins with the four steps of the scientific method: observation, hypothesis/question, experiments and conclusion; and observes that in both instances people are unable to follow through with objective observation.  He begins with eleven observations about 9/11 and then compares these to the coronavirus pandemic.  These observations include fear based coverage; no investigation; response kills far more people; false official accounts; preceded by drills mimicking the event; insider trading; benefits for a powerful few; intelligence agency control of evidence; illusive all powerful enemy; pseudoscience; and censorship of dissent.  This interview was produced in October 2020, but not aired at that time, due to audio issues.

A propósito del libro de nuestro compañero, Emmanuel Rodriguez, “El efecto clase media. Crítica y crisis de la paz social”, profundizaremos sobre los efectos despolitizadores de este arreglo social y los límites que presenta para una entender una sociedad cada vez más desigual. Veremos también las principales  figuras o arquetipos que caracterizan este forma de organización de lo social: el propietario, el garantizado, el padre/madre de familia, el educado y el modernizado. Y cómo cada vez nuestras sociedades son menos capaces de responder a las aspiraciones de integración de las clases medias y sufren, a través de las diversas crisis, procesos de estratificación que desdibujan ese horizonte homogéneo de casi una única clase. Hablaremos también de cómo, a partir de esta realidad, podemos construir apuestas políticas de futuro.

The Assignment: Use a building as a filter.

Step 1: You’re going to use a wall in a building, perhaps your workplace or residence, as a filter. Consider these instructions carefully before selecting the appropriate wall. Some trial and error may be required.

Step 2: You’re going to record a track in which the rhythmic element is heard through a wall. That is: you’ll record the rhythm track, and then play it loud from another room (or outside), and record what it sounds like as separated by a wall. Choose a wall.

Step 3: Record the rhythm, track.

Step 4: Re-record the rhythm track from Step 3 by playing it on one side of a wall and recording from the other side of that wall.

Step 5: Record a piece of music using the recording from Step 4 as the foundational rhythm track.

Eight Important Steps When Your Track Is Done:

Step 1: Include “disquiet0583” (no spaces or quotation marks) in the name of your tracks.

Step 2: If your audio-hosting platform allows for tags, be sure to also include the project tag “disquiet0583” (no spaces or quotation marks). If you’re posting on SoundCloud in particular, this is essential to subsequent location of tracks for the creation of a project playlist.

"Life in a futuristic mega-city turned out to be not so pleasant. Living in an over populated human hive, spending all of your spare time getting to your stupid day job, having to deal with bureaucracy and corrupt administration, being constantly stressed out. Not to mention a hot conflict zone nearby. Seeing military ships flying above your head became normal at some point. All of this, just like it was hundreds years ago. Nothing has changed. At least you can enjoy unearthly colors outside the window while having a mug of synthetic beer in the nearest barroom".

Submission for One Synth Challenge 171 featuring "Apricot" from Nakst.

Another synthwave track with my usual style. The synth itself is nice and seamlessly integrates with my FL Studio. The additions of internal samples and effects were handy for creating sounds. However there are some aspects that could be improved. The biggest disappointment to me was audio rate LFO modulation, especially with sample & hold mode. I cannot explain it correctly but it simply doesn't sound right. Other than that, this instrument would be useful for learning the basics of synthesis.
