Der Sommer ist endlich da mit Bensson aus München und Hannoi aus Bamberg im Reisegepäck. Zusammen liefern die beiden genau den richtigen Mix, um die endlosen Nächte noch ein wenig zu verfeinern.  UK meets Chicago House, Romanien meets Berlin Minimal und alles begleitet von Hip-Hop-, Jazz- & Funk-Einflüssen, einer durchgehend spicy Hi-Hat und perfekt gesetzten Vocals. Ein Paradebeispiel für ein interessantes und sich ergänzendes B2B-Mixing, denn man spürt, dass zwei Personen mit einem weitgefächerten und doch unterschiedlichen Musikverständnis aufeinandertreffen. Summer has finally arrived, bringing Bensson from Munich b2b Hannoi from Bamberg along in its luggage. Together, they deliver the perfect mix to make the endless nights even more enjoyable. UK meets Chicago House, Romania meets Berlin Minimal, all accompanied by Hip-Hop, Jazz & Funk influences, a consistently spicy hi-hat, and perfectly placed vocals. A prime example of interesting and complementary B2B mixing, as you can feel the meeting of two people with a broad yet different understanding of music. Maze has just released her second EP, a new record via the longstanding Permanent Vacation label. Her musical outlook is broad, her DJ sets tend to sit within the realm of House but have been known to extend into deeper, more progressive sounds when the mood is right.

She isn’t focussed on euphoric drops or massive moments and is far more interested in telling a tale which will soundtrack an evening spent on the dancefloor or in the darker corner of a club with a friend or two.

This mix demonstrates a well rounded understanding of the fundamentals of House music – pairing the more intrinsically head down experiences alongside highs and emotional release via the rise in tempo and sound.

For her it’s in “those subtle moments when everything comes together that you really remember.”

This time it is a mix live recorded during a party at Platform 4 in Aalborg, the mix was recorded during Skatebårds appearance the 26th of August 2016.

This week we're thrilled to have one our favourite artists delivering for flow sessions 004 - Aleksandir. 
While at university in the UK, Aleksandir received an extracurricular education in dance music via Bristol’s club scene, quickly becoming adept at distilling the remains of a night out into hushed strains of house back in his bedroom studio. Adopting the transliteration of his birth name into his native Turkish as his moniker, Aleksandir’s first release came in the form of a mellow excursion on Blind Jacks Journey entitled ‘The Turtle Nipper’ (2016), followed by a deeper dive into the heads-down part of the dance with the ‘Contrails’ LP (2018), on Seb Wildblood’s Church. His breakout hit ‘Yamaha’ (2018) on London imprint Tessellate, meanwhile, hinted at a more club-ready sound. Inspired by the galloping arpeggios of Nordic disco heard on a formative weekend at Club to Club Torino, ‘Yamaha’ became an overnight hit and snuck into the big room via heavyweights like Dixon and Tycho. 2019 saw Aleksandir explore peak time with the ‘Hard to Explain’ EP (Artesian Sounds), spiked with electro, breakbeat and auto-tuned vocals taking cue from The Strokes. This year, the producer and DJ hit the road far and wide, including a North American outing, multiple festival appearances throughout Europe and an upcoming Australia tour. When he’s not noodling on Logic or nudging the jog wheel, Aleksandir co-pilots the Artesian Sounds label with Emre Can Swim and co-curates the MİKS nights with Supu in Istanbul.
