Fragile Silence

Lynda Faye and Fred Gold, together, formed the Illinois Harmony Connection, at SoundClick, and You Tube. Fred's in Illinois, Lynda in CA, so all of our music duos etc were prepared in CyberSpace, thanks to Audacity! I'm apparently an alto and a soprano-But I attended Pepperdine College on a violin scholarship, and also gave opera a shot, but I gave up on performing it! Allot of my songs are cross-overs, I realize that----Country-Gospel, Classical-Folk, along with a few comical songs. I'm a classical violinist at heart, but taught myself enough guitar with a few great influences advising me here and there (which you can hear on some of my solos!) Ben Benay wanted to teach me some arranging techniques, but I didn't have the tenacity; He said if I didn't study classical guitar, I'd never be able to write more than country folk;Guess he was right, but then the violin influence stepped in- when he heard  my humming of the violin parts, he said, "Lynda, you ARE an arranger ?" ; Paula Drake tried too, for a few years, and she's in her 80's a still goin' strong!  but I kept continuing to plug away at the writing!I had to edit this, sadly, as classmate Fred Gold (Railsback) lost his beloved wife, Ella May, last August. I'm trying to encourage him to keep at that guitar; but I'm sure he's not much in the mood; We dedicated "Ella's Garden", the song we're recorded a few years ago, as Ella's memory -as the video on "I Wanna go Back" was filmed IN Ella's back yard garden, and the song has now taken on special meaning to both of us. Won't be a "replacement for" Fred, but I found both Adriano Fontana's versatility and guitar expertise, and "Ancolies" singing a few of my songs in French for me. Won't be easy to find! I'm seeking to find some competent "versatile" musicians (and composers) who love children and have hopes for music in future generations, and perhaps a strong History Buff, to help with several children's musicals. I welcome other singers to sing my originals---My goal has never been to "be" a great singer; but to connect appropriate singers TO some of my songs: All three genres. My Folky MOR album is "Movin' On" at CDBaby. , I've "been there done that-nite clubs, Holiday Inn lounges from Ca. to Pennsylvania; I refused the Vegas offers! (too much writing to do!)  A songwriter's "Job", like most housewives...is never done, now, is it ?
Pls see the attitude of most of them who are married TO, some of those songwriters, in the "Songwriters' Serenade", or, as I'm always having difficulty finding "concise" titles...." All You Got is Words!" Some of my folky-country is on my album at CDBaby, titled "Movin On"...and I am currently trying to assemble twenty songs for " Friends, Love Songs and Heartaches." Seems viewers liked the " remakes" of the Oldies-I attribute that to Adriano's working his way in and out and around my Acapella tracks, I sent to him; I'm not easy to work with because I have trouble keeping "consistent  rhythms' . Of course Adrian has a word in Italian for that. Maybe HE should solo on a few of my songs and I'll back him on guitar; Course those would then become comedy, yes Adriano ?

A small note on my own behalf: I have noticed that my playback figures have dropped dramatically. The statistics show that the number of playbacks has dropped from 2000 per week to just under 200.
On the one hand, this is frustrating, as everyone sees this as an indicator and confirmation of their work. On the other hand, figures are not particularly important, but one wonders what is wrong. In my opinion, SC has changed a lot, uploading tracks has become more complicated and constant security queries are annoying.
In addition, great artists are disappearing from the platform, partly by their own choice, partly because they have been banned, the algorithm has “recognized” them as spam and mercilessly deleted their account. I'm still a paying member, but my attitude towards this has changed...

Please let me know your experiences and impressions.

When I don't have the time to actively listen to my favorite artists on soundcloud, I just leave the stream running...while washing up in the kitchen, for example 😆

A long, long time ago, there was an organ in the Christmas-decorated living room in his parents' house, where Frank grew up. Originally bought by his father for his two older siblings, they showed no interest in playing the organ. Frank, however, did. White and black keys and giving off strange sounds. 

So at the age of 9 he began to let his fingers circle on this instrument, searching for the right keys like on a typewriter. And another 9 years would pass before he could buy his first own instrument. Already at the age of 13 he made notes about the then current synthesizers, bought one magazine after the other and visited music fairs in Frankfurt, Germany.

His first keyboard was the Yamaha DSR-2000, which he bought in a music store near his hometown Biebertal. In installments! Finally he could develop himself further - away from the limited tonality of the small organ. The built-in 8-track sequencer helped him to reach unimagined heights. 
Little by little his equipment expanded and his ambition to create music like that of Jean-Michel Jarres came closer. Influenced by this and countless other musicians of the time, his interest grew, but he taught himself everything. Not even having attended a music school or being able to read music at all, he wrote one song after another and recorded them on the only medium available to him at the time: audio cassettes.
Many of these recordings are unfortunately lost forever, because cassettes are and were not the best recording medium. He has to try to play many of his songs from memory. 

In 2007, he fulfilled a long-awaited wish: to buy a KORG. He had always wanted to own one, but with the latest synthesizers at the time of their release having a purchase price of over 6000 D-marks (the currency of the time in the 1980s and 1990s), that dream of owning one was far away. So in 2007 he bought a used KORG 01W/FD at ebay. And as before with the purchase of the Yamaha keyboard, a completely new world opened up to him.

In addition, there were expanders and sound modules from Kawai, Roland and Yamaha (K1m, SC-55, QY10). Six years later his enthusiasm for making music ebbed and rediscovered his hobby (which it always was and still is). In 2018 in April he decided to present his music to a wider audience and uploaded his first song on the platform soundcloud. Since that time, thanks also to the ever-evolving software, he continues to evolve, experiment and relive his times through music.

So great we can reflect inner beauty with each other and find in the end we are all cut out of the same wood, it was only the shape which differed !
