I feel the surface start to swell
Ideas with teeth begin to yell

Protrusive thoughts, they push and bloom
Flesh of reason, split in the room
They want the air, they want the skin
They press until the light leaks in

My clinical hand records the stain
A blooming node of conscious pain
Each concept hisses, sharp and bright
Like neurons fighting for the night

The measured graphs all start to sing
Of memories that bite and cling

Protrusive thoughts, with forward grace
They rise and kiss the hidden face
The mind expands, the walls deform
The self becomes a pushing swarm

Elastic doubt and lucid bone
Converge beneath the cortical throne
A sentence grows, it aches to shout
My skull forgets to keep it out

The lab lights hum like ancient bees
My intellect begins to freeze

Protrusive thoughts, obscene and pure
The treatment fails, but I’m the cure
They breach the folds where silence hid
And teach me what the body did

They push through speech, through tranquil eyes
They crown themselves as small goodbyes
They stretch my head, my language bends
