Influenced by artists such as Coil, Cabaret Voltaire, and Skinny Puppy, Textbeak started creating music in the late 80s with Todd Sines. Together, they worked on various projects and eventually formed B/Re (Body Release) with Titonton Duvante and Charles Noel. Textbeak (as his project Bath) later signed with Jevan Records (run by gothic band Lestat) and recorded with producer Kramer (Shimmy Disk). He has since released solo works under the name Textbeak on various labels.   

Textbeak has performed at many events nationally and internationally, opening for notable artists such as Modern English, Merzbow, Nitzer Ebb, The Legendary Pink Dots and Meat Beat Manifesto. He has also remixed tracks for various artists, including Architect (aka Daniel Myer of Haujobb), ∆AIMON, Blush Response and Bestial Mouths. His 2016 album, Sick For Songs A Season Eats on Cleopatra Records, featured collaborations with Mark Stewart (The Pop Group), John Fryer (This Mortal Coil) and more.  

His new album, ASEMIC MUSICK, is planned for release in late 2025 on the Industrial Detroit label and features collabs with Antoni Maiovvi (Ye Gods), Brood Faye, Other, Broken Nails, Gwendolyn Dot and more!

what began as a simple idea - Josh "Black Dog" Beck &amp; Remy "the Restless" Marc playing a bunch of post punk, no wave, synth, and punk records in a tiny bar - has evolved into one of the most interesting cult music nights in Portland. Sick Jaggers play basically ANYTHING dark and danceable. house, 80s funk, EBM, 90s R&amp;B, punk, minimal synth, industrial, goth, no wave.... the list is as endless as the night.

for over 2 years, they've been curating a monthly party at Portland's East End, featuring some of the darkest underground experimental dance music; releasing periodic mixes; and taking their dark, damp NW sound outward, with dates on both coasts, as well as China.

in 2012, expect some amazing changes, as Sick Jaggers becomes a seasonal party, starting on March 16th... more news soon.

Jewels' upcoming release, AD ASTRA, is their third release and is short for 'Ad Astra Per Aspera', meaning 'Through Hardship to the Stars' … the EP title meaning simply, 'To The Stars.' Dense sensual bass beats, combined with dreamy come-hither vocals, mix into powerful kaleidoscopic crescendos of alien screams and deep, velvet clad follow through. The synths are swirling and hypnotic, balanced and measured with percussive bass notes and exotic chimes. Taking pain into pleasure and control, arriving at a tropical island on a foreign landscape. Dark to light, tragedy to fantasy, with an overall sense of desire.  

AD ASTRA will be out on vinyl in early 2013 by underground Hollywood label, Records Ad Nauseum. Previously they released a single split with Soft Metals on desire (France's leading purveyor of cold / minimal / dark wave music) and a full-length LP in 2011, Pleasure, also with desire (Pleasure was also released on cassette by Sweating Tapes.)

Jewels of the Nile are Jessy DeLaurentis and Meghan Scanlon and are based in Los Angeles.
