"Holding Together" denotes a time for creating union with others in order to help one another. Imagine the element of water coming from the sky to assist the earth after a period of drought. So too, can your dance come to assist you and bring vitality and hope to your body, mind and soul. So too, can your dance with community assist you in feeling supported, witnessed, and held. When everything wants to fall apart, lean into letting go, and let your sacred union with dance bring it all back together.

This set was played originally for an online dance at the Asheville Movement Collective, and then I re-recorded it the day after and swapped out a few songs. This is actually my 5th recording of the set, and I'm finally satisfied with the track progression and happy to share it with the world. After each revision I get feedback from dancers and I dance to the set as well to see how it works. I've found this iterative feedback process really elevates the quality of the mix, although it is time consuming. About 40 hours goes into each mix I produce.

We had dancers join us for this practice from Asheville, Maui, Bali, Florida and Boulder. I drew inspiration for the intention above from the I Ching or Book of Changes.
