A single from my futuristic video game project set 40 billion years in the future. Our planet has been wiped clean long ago, and humanity is a shell of itself, being puppeteered by a rampant AI that puts our consciousness to the test in cyborg frames, fighting to the death in massive combat arenas. A single human retains their soul inexplicably, as some machines had prophecized. This individual emerges outside the AI mainframe, fully autonomous and extremely deadly in their cyborg body. Armed with incredible weapons and skill, a journey is set upon to discover what went wrong so many years ago, and what the future of humanity will be like.

Factory

The essence of a great warlord is enslaved, and serves as the source of power inside a machine of terrible destructive capabilities. It suffers a tragic existence, unable to free itself from its mechanical prison, but also under the control of entities with wicked ambitions.

Hybrid Operator

The neural interface of the merged scientists who betrayed humanity and Earth along with them. Eternally overseeing the shreds of humanity still remaining under its insane rule. Due to the understimation of their own flawed nature and hubris, eventually they corrupted the designs they had created to benefit humanity. The still living tissue is part of a construct atop a great metal spire somewhere in the ruins of Europe.

Interface

A lonely space-traveler stuck in a decaying orbit ends up floating into the deep void of the universe. Facing certain doom due to a series of misfortune, the traveler must come to terms after the final attempt completely burns out the engines of his craft, putting out its last hopes of self-preservation. Now its fate is left in the cold embrace of the stars.
