Hey everybody! We are really proud and happy to share this mix at the end of a big year that was 2022!

The year has felt like many years in many ways with the rollercoaster of challenges as well as highs.
Musically we were able to travel and build and expand our Meanwhile brand, and amongst that find new inspiration for the music we love.

Our intention is always to connect with the cosmic within us to be the bridge to manifest the sound that comes through us.

With that in mind, we wanted to bring forward a deep and introspective journey for this mix that reflected and resonated with our path as both artists and music lovers.

We really wanted to do something different; our intention and feeling was to create something timeless that listeners will want to keep coming back to… a listening experience more than a pure dancefloor set.
Most of our mixes these days being label owners and producers contain a lot of the freshest music we have access to which is always exciting, but for this we wanted more of a journey over a wider span of time and to present a flow that remains deep and reflective, with timeless tunes that fit no matter when or where they were written.

Of course there is some fresh stuff there from our labels and ourselves, as well as a few edits we have made especially for this mix.

We hope you all enjoy this journey; we poured our heart and soul into it and we are honoured to share this as the last 333 mix for the year that was 2022.

About a month ago, I played my first set at Stereo Montreal, a moment that will always hold a special place in my heart. Fortunately, I still had the set's history saved on my USB, so I decided to re-record it and share that memory with you.

Weaving together electronic music and human connection, Kora is the project of Québec-born Mikael B. Robillard. As a producer, DJ, and co-founder of Saisons Musique, a Montréal-based label inspired by nature’s cycles, he crafts immersive sets and productions released on labels like Decca, Kindisch, and Anjunadeep. 

His remix collaborations, including work with Ludovico Einaudi and Mercan Dede, bridge electronic and acoustic worlds. After 16 years of dancefloor-driven music, his debut album Azimuth explored ambient and cinematic realms, reflecting his passion for music as a tool for inner discovery. With performances in 50+ cities across 30+ countries, Kora continues to share his deep, emotive sound worldwide.

On this Balance Selections mix, the Canadian artist delivers a beautiful mix of organic, deep and dubby house. Featuring tracks from Sven Weismann, Nicola Cruz, Hernan Cattaneo & Simply City and more, this mix is equal parts soothing and grooving.

If you are a dedicated electronic music fan, there really is no need to give you too much of an introduction into the world of 16 Bit Lolitas. For those that are uninitiated, welcome to a whole new world. 

The Dutch duo of Ariaan Olieroock and Peter Kriek have been around since the early 00's, releasing the sort of productions which always reserved space in many revered DJ bags. They received worldwide recognition with tracks like ‘Murder Weapon’, ‘Nobody Seems To Care’, ‘Sedna’ and remixes for the likes of Sander Kleinenberg and Armin van Buuren.

Where many early-00's prog producers faded away, 16BL endured its heyday to stay as relevant today as they were a decade ago. Lately, the 16 Bit Lolitas have been focusing some of that energy into their side project, Cubicolor; a project with Tim Digby-Bell which of late has been gaining some serious momentum, even seeing them receive some attention outside of the club scene (they 'are currently working hard on the new Cubicolor album').

For their Balance excursion the Dutch boys have kept to form with a beautifully crafted selection of tracks and remixes from artists like Patrice Baumel, Trikk, Audiofly, Adriatique and more. And needless to say, 16BL have delivered a masterful mix.

Luka Sambe’s musical universe is an enlightening place, where a diverse palette has filled his sonic journey with innovative creations. Discovering house music was a life-altering moment for the Australian artist; its adrenaline and poignant spectrum changed him forever moving forward. In a career highlighted by releases on Lost & Found Records and long-standing German imprint Traum Schallplatten, the Guy J favourite has now carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. For Luka music has always been about telling a story, one that captivates on various planes yet translates well on a dance floor. His ability to capture emotion comes from a very honest place, it resonates through his music, making each creation more anticipated than the last.
