The music I chose for the set is a journey through my different styles and preferences that I like to combine in a long set.
Sometimes dark and demanding and sometimes trippy und playful. 
For my definition of DJing this is the challenge to tell a story with my music.

The last year was a caesura for the whole electronic music culture worldwide and I hope that we can experience our culture together again soon. 
It is so important and holds our society together and gives people courage and confidence in these difficult times.

For me personally I try to get something positive out of this situation by being in the studio as much as possible. In addition, I am currently building up a lot with our new club label Kiosk ID, which I run together with Mira, and last year we caused quite a stir with our compilations „Give ‚em a future & 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch“ to save our club Kater Blau in Berlin.

Hard to believe it’s been half a year since I uploaded my last set on Soundcloud. I’m happy to share this recording from The Bow in Buenos Aires, recorded last month. 

If you’ve been following over the years, it’s no secret that The Bow holds a special place in my heart as one of the best places in the world to play, since the Argentinians are some of the most passionate music lovers I’ve ever seen. 32 hours of travel for a 3 hour set (and 3 steaks) is well worth it, every single time.

Mit unserer Nummer 156 reisen wir diesen Sonntag in die kalifornische Sonne von L.A. zu Tara Brooks.

Musik hat Tara schon seit frühester Kindheit umgeben und begeistert. Die Eltern hatten eine große und breitgefächerte Plattensammlung und so ist sie mit Einflüsse von Klassik, Rock, HipHop bis Punk aufgewachsen. Doch ihre Leidenschaft hat sie dann in der Underground-Szene von L.A. und Houston gefunden … die Liebe zur elektronischen Musik.

2007 hat Tara dann angefangen selbst am DJ-Pult zu stehen und spielt nun weltweit auf Festivals und Clubs wie dem BPM Festival, WMC Space und natürlich in ihrem Zuhause dem Burning Man, wo sie jedes Jahr mehrere Sets am Robot Heart Bus und anderen Camps spielt. Sehr zu empfehlen ist z.B. hier das Set von Ihr und Mira 2017 beim Camp von Pink Mammoth.

Ist Tara mal gerade nicht auf Tour kann man sie dann bestimmt in ihrem Studio finden. Ihre Musik lässt sich in keine Kategorien einordnen … sie gehen über Grenzen hinweg aber eins ist sicher direkt ins Herz. Tracks und Remixe sind zu finden bei Akbal Music, Kindisch, Einmusika Recordings, Exotic Refreshment, Balance Series und John Digweed's Transitions.

Für Afterhour Sounds hat sich Tara wie bei allen ihren Vorhaben mächtig ins Zeug gelegt und eine traumhafte Afterhour zwischen deepen und treibenden Sound gebastelt.
