"Teeel just released his latest full-length album, Hydrostatic on Mush Records. Fans of his debut, Amulet and follow-up, University Hights know what to expect: big productions that sound like the electro-pop spawn of New Order and Toro Y Moi. With nods to giants like New Order and Daft Punk and modern critic darlings Washed Out and Toro Y Moi, Hydrostatic has all the makings of a synth-pop breakthrough. "Temple Of The Sun" kicks the album off with a perfect piece of songcraft. Intricate synth and guitar work dance around a bouncing bass line, laying the foundation for the first of an album full of vocal hooks. "Disc Go" is a clear standout with equal parts Chromeo style playfulness, Tom Tom Club rubbery bass, and a repetitive synth line that harkens to filter-based Frech house music. With standouts like "You're Mine" and "Runners" anchoring the album, Teeel switches up styles from track to track delivering dancefloor ready grooves, dark washes of synthesized brooding, and pop hook after pop hook.

Brett returns with two covers that point to some of the musical reference points that have shaped their slick, nonchalant style over the years - 'Vacation' by The Go-Go's and 'Dance Hall Days' by Wang Chung. 

In classic form, Mick Coogan's falsettos glide across minimally produced instrumentals, paying homage to the originals while making the tracks distinctly Brett's in the process.

Minute Taker, AKA Manchester-based singer-songwriter Ben McGarvey, is known for his nostalgia-fuelled synth-pop songs and haunting, ethereal vocals. 

His latest 80s-inspired album WOLF HOURS includes the singles Lead You Home, The Darkest Summer and After The Rain (featuring BRIGHT LIGHT BRIGHT LIGHT) which has received airplay on BBC Radio 2. 

The album’s music videos are taken from an audiovisual show he toured in 2019-20, also called WOLF HOURS, which explores the psyches of gay men at different point in time. 

Aside from two previous acclaimed albums, official remixes for YAZOO & ERASURE, and collaborations with fellow synthwave artists COLOR THEORY, LAU, 3FORCE, WALTER ALIENSON & MEGAN MCDUFFEE, Minute Taker has gained a reputation for his inventive cover versions of classic songs by some of his favourite artists including Kate Bush, Madonna, Depeche Mode, Tori Amos & Pet Shop Boys. Many of these were recorded exclusively for Secret Songs, a series of homemade albums available for fans via a Patreon-esque subscription service.
