After a bunch of wicked house productions on Beste Modus, Rough Limited and his own Unison Wax, Diego Krause is about to step out on Apollonia. 

If you're a fan of lush, groove-infected jams then you should probably check out the Berlin-based producer's SoundCloud. 

Cuts such as 'Seize', 'Mogul' and 'Special Treatment' have obviously impressed Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky as they've snapped him up for the 'Right About Now' 12", following output on the label by Kerri Chandler, Point G and Callisto in 2013 and 2014.

When the duo Skudge started out in late 2009 with their first release on Alphahouse, followed by a string of underground hits on their own label Skudge Records, little did they know that they would be in the forefront of the Stockholm sound of the dawning 2010’s.

The complex rhythm textures combined by a echoing audial lightness that still runs unparalleled, paired with sub intense quick basslines and swirling percussion has been the trademark. This updated take on the techno and house crossover of today got appreciated and caught the attention of a full spectrum of artists.

With a tight release schedule, 2010 alone saw 6 releases from the Skudge hub. Culminating in 2011 with the release of ’Phantom’, the full length album release on the home imprint, followed by the sub labels that releases other artists as well.
Five years from that era, Skudge has reshaped into the solo work from one of the original artists. This change of production and artistry launches into the crates with the release of the limited full length ’Balancing Point’ LP.

During this time, the sound has shifted into new territory, where the entire A-side acts as the beginning of this grooving whirlpool of a record: quick and immense.
The UK influences that was formed in the 90’s, gets picked up and infused through the B-side, ending off in a almost orchestral piece.

The delicate subtleness of the second 12” showcases a familiar coming-of-light type of style that we so much appreciate, firmly ending the long player and leave us sure of the future.

Spektre is a project that doesn't need any introduction! British proper techno pioneers! And we are extremely happy to see these guys on board of our label! This time we had an experiment, and tried to make musical collaboration between United Kingdom and Ukraine. We took our heroes' huge hit "Together" released on 1605 earlier and gave chance to Ukrainian producers to remix it!One hundred fifty remixes took their part in competition! And now we have two winners Dub Makers and Klinika! Different styles, energy, mood and completely different sound - best strategy for successful release!Here are some words of Spektre about it: "With over 150 entries into the competition we were hugely pleased with the response we had for the Spektre remix of their huge single on 1605 'Together' The standard was high and it really did showcase just how much strong up and coming talent there is from the Ukraine, a Country that has a thriving electronic music scene. After much deliberation we narrowed it down to our top ten tracks but the two clear winners for us were the remixes from Dub Makers and Klinika. Dub Makers already have an established sound and delivered an tight, acid inspired mix which instantly stood out from the rest of the crowd! And Klinika was a close second who really took the track towards the darker and more big room techno sound which we love and is very much in line with our own label output on Respekt!"Of course this release could not see the world without the remix of Spartaque. He tried to push up the energy of original with help of sequenced baselines pumping sub synths. Huge risers in breakdowns and wild fills with exploding beats. Here at Respekt we can't say no to titanic collaborations, so a Spektre & Subfractal gang seemed right up our alley. The original mix rolls effortlessly with some busy percussion and a catchy spoken word sample, with synths reminiscent of the purer Techno days of yore. Wonderfully loopy, "Prosthetic Consicence" hits all the right spots with pure class.Continuing strong with the Bodscrub remix, dark overtones take over via crunchy effects and moody stabs. Meanwhile, haunting synths slowly take over and switch the vibe, while the rhythm section kicks and punches away.

Really happy to share this live recording from last week's marathon long play 7 hour set from one of Asia's leading smaller parties(where EDM and now techno have/or are leading the charge)..But The Sweatbox doesn't follow trends or flavor of the month flash in the pan musical genres or artists/producers they like what they like!! But unfortunately it had to leave its spiritual home of Elysium a while back not because of the heavy handed approach of the establishment but to relocate to the more fashionable climate of Kyo/Ren right under the gaze of the Petronas Towers..enjoy!
