Having established themselves within the global DJ circuit, label founder, producer and DJ Oliver Koletzki and his protégé Niko Schwind now team up for a floor-focussed live-project: Koletzki & Schwind. To be released on Koletzki’s own Stil vor Talent, ‘She Wants Acid’, their maiden collaboration, takes no prisoners. 	

The title-track is crafted around a booming groove, Witch Doctor-style stabs, and a vocal loop, until the duo plunge into a deranged acid break-down accentuated by ominous UFO synths.  On ‘Fake-Return’, Koletzki & Schwind appropriate elements of trance, twisting them into a synth-led monster with growling sub bass. Lastly, jacking garage percussion and an old-school bass-lead drive ‘Sydney’, K&S’s homage to the golden age.   	

Having delved in to hip-hop, downbeat, or electro-pop with past solo productions, ‘She Wants Acid’ exemplifies one thing: Koletzki & Schwind are ready to party.

For the BIRD EP, Julian Jeweil chose to use heavy sounds: mechanical yet melodic at the same time, while maintaining in parallel this pumping, very rhythm-oriented vibe for each of the five tracks. Having laid strong musical foundations with early releases on Supdub, including debut album ‘Breakthrough’, Rostock’s Carlo Ruetz enjoyed another career defining moment with the 2014 release of ‘Controlled By Robots’. A label debut that lead to his inclusion as one of the new generation of Richie Hawtin’s Minus artists. 

Fast forward to 2016 and Carlo has spread the love further, featuring his music on the likes of KD Raw, Deeperfect, Trapez and most recently Elevate. He closes out the year with his SCI+TEC debut, the impressive double-header of Instinct / Distorted Perception. 

The disconcerting darkness of Instinct with it’s purring bassline and waves of echoing synth create an electrically charged calm-before-the-storm atmosphere. Its tempestuous twin, Distorted Perception, lulls us with its initial hypnotic beats, before finishing with a flourish of metallic strikes that stir the senses.
