This summer, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on Ambient, IDM and Deep Techno.

Artist biography :

Adhémar is a multidisciplinary artist, establishing his universe through music and plastic works. Constantly in search of the luminous quality of sounds, in a world made of shadows and lights, his music is closely linked to his plastic work.
This obsession with shadows leads him to think and create spaces, atmospheres that focus on the lightness and poetry of light. The idea of "narrative potential of music", allows to confront the psychological and philosophical journey with a particular report on what is alive and what surrounds us (whether it is the material world, immaterial, the fact that everything is in constant becoming). With a particular rigor for the transitions, whether in his own production or in his DJset, his universe is built little by little, according to the sound transformations.

Vardae, a project with one ambition, that of breaking away from the genre barrier to explore new sounds around the love for psychedelic music. A powerful sound going from dub to tribe through techno and drum'n'bass. A universe where immersion and experience prevail over codes with the idea of offering a journey at each of his appearances.

Artist biography :
The intimate symbolizes the essence of things, which is deep, and sometimes hidden. In its selection, Inteemate constantly seeks to link these deep and invisible essences that hide in the sonorities. Fascinated by the introspective and emotional power of music, she wants to tell stories. She tries to capture the energy of a state of mind, an emotion, a place, a moment... in order to transform it in a melodic journey.

Artist biography :
Sindh was born under the influence of oriental music and the meeting between modular sound and tribal percussions. His live sets aim at creating an introspective ecosystem mixing shamanic atmospheres and complex rhythms without genre boundaries.
Passionate about machines, he discovers modular synthesizers and shapes his live project that he presents at festivals such as La vallée électrique or the Monument festival. In 2021 he creates a new alias Sindh for a more experimental approach with a first release on Valentino Mora's label IDO.

Artist biography :
Heliopora is a DJ from Marseille. Co-founder of Melifera Records, his personal project aims to bring together his two passions, music and diving.
He is influenced by the deepest techno sprinkled with dub sounds that reveal sunny and watery soundscapes. His set immerses us in the deep blue world along the Mediterranean coast, discovering what lives below the surface.

Diapasøn became interested in music and its instrumental practice at an early age. Since 2012, he has devoted himself fully to electronic music, a way for him to express his passion for current influences. In 2017, he created the Lyon-based label CWR, where he manages the artistic direction and programming. In love with vinyl, his sound universe swims between ambient and psychedelic techno.

Artist biography :
With methodical contrasts, Stellah Maris animates magnetic tales. He plays rooted music through a surrealist prism, evoking sound rituals and lucid dreams.
As part of the Exocet collective, which he founded in 2018, Stellah Maris explores the depths and marine aesthetics in soundsystem culture and ambient music. He is also a member of the Nantes collective Öz as a resident DJ and sound technician, and takes part in the Lost Area project, a versatile platform offering visual works on a dub techno background.
Finally, he hosts Inconscient Collectif, a monthly broadcast on Radio DY10 dedicated to folk, traditional, spiritual and ritual music, as well as to the evolutions and experiments that have taken them across the ages and continents.

Artist biography :
Atomic Moog is a French duo formed in 2015 by two cousins Cédric André-Jean and Charles Lecca. Influenced by artists such as Plastikman, Daniel Avery, Acronym or Mike Parker and the prologue label, their productions are both cold and haunting, a perfect mix aimed at club culture and for a sophisticated audience.
Each of their productions is built around their machines, guiding them towards the creation of a sound ambiance, on which percussive and electric grooves are superposed. Adepts of improvisation, each of their live appearance is unique, yet a perfectly identifiable performance.

Franco De lafore known as Delafore is a young argentinian artist from Buenos Aires. Since 2021 he began his journey making music characterized by the search for an abstract, introspective and original sound that combines both the most hypnotic and minimalist influences of dance music as well as the most ambient and experimental away from the dancefloor.

Guided by her early post-punk, shoegaze and psychedelic influences, Cass creates sets that oscillate between new wave, downtempo, acid and punk. She has a definite penchant for powerful beats and dark, heady melodies that are easy to get lost in.

Artist biography :
Driven by the belief that music can be a source of healing, Jacky Jeane is working to create an inclusive, caring party, with an aquatic, enveloping soundtrack. Introduced to mixing by the feminist collective MAL.E.S (Strasbourg), she draws on ambient, downtempo, UK, tribal, bass music and techno sounds, with particular attention paid to rhythms and textures. Jacky Jeane represents a modern emerging scene, happily multiplying areas of exploration, both musical and living.

Artist biography :
Avsluta is a London-based sound artist, DJ, live performer and curator. While her output is diverse in both her live performances and DJ sets alike, it most often taps into the realms of ambient, downtempo, UK-bass and leftfield techno, navigating the in-betweens of ambient and dance music.
Lucie runs Introspective Electronics, a platform featuring regular radio shows and guest podcast series zooming in on the vast diversity of ambient and electronica. Together with the London-based DJ and producer Alicia, she co-curates Terra Obscura, a series of progressive club experiences at the grassroots London venue Ormside Projects. In collaboration with AMOENUS, she co-organises Sonic Garden, a series of outdoor experimental ambient and downtempo happenings.

Artist biography :
Cobahn is a Korean-born DJ now based in Amsterdam. She began her musical journey as part of Seoul's deep spiritual techno scene, regularly performing at Vurt and various parties in the city.
Since moving to Amsterdam, Cobahn has continued to explore and expand her musical horizons, drawing inspiration from both Eastern philosophy and the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. Her music is a fusion of deep and experimental styles, which she blends together to create an authentic and immersive soundscape.

Farazdeck is a project focusing on the exploration of deep, hypnotic and organic music. This artistic project gets inspiration in our surroundings, its understanding and exploration such as nature, rituals, or psychology, spirituality, science and space.

Artist biography :
Yin Yang Audio is the essence of experimentation. Coming from various genres, I attempt to carve out a sound with no genre restrictions. the project began to take shape with the release 'From the void' on Onset Audio where the idea was to break sonic barriers- grab themes from techno, deep dnb, indusrial, ambient and the experimental melt it into a crucible and see what kinds of awesome shapes come about.

This winter, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
Pjenné (Penny O’Brien) is a familiar name in the Melbourne dance community. Through her imaginative club sets and weekly show on Melbourne’s PBSfm Radio, she has established herself as a critical fixture in the local scene. Though her sets may vary wildly, Pjenné has crafted a style that is distinctly her own - atmospheric whilst bass-heavy, it’s sure to make you want to move.
The after-hours see her navigating through all realms of dance music - energetic sets that are heavily driven by the psychedelic and progressive sounds of the 90s and beyond. Equally adept at playing small, sweaty basements as she is festival stages, Pjenné has made multiple appearances at the highly acclaimed Inner Varnika, Strawberry Fields, Golden Plains and Boiler Room.
Away from the dancefloor, Pjenné finds a sanctuary inside the radio booth. Her show Passing Notes further explores her fascination with the diversity of electronic music, as well as the community it fosters. The airwaves afford her the opportunity to showcase sounds a little more unorthodox. From early evening soundscapes, downtempo and emotional synth pop, to experimental club music, Passing Notes provides a crucial connection from club to community, also playing host to inspiring local and international talent. 
Pjenné’s passion for what she does is pervasive. Be it in the studio or on the dancefloor, the same beliefs shine through: the importance of community, of supporting each other and the necessity of a damn good dance.

Co-founder of Virtual Forest Records, Paris-based producer Solma draws his inspiration from the hypnotic sounds of modern deep techno and the energetic grooves of UK bass music to produce psychedelic music at the crossroads of styles.

Iffie is a dj and project currator based in Athens.
Her sound explores dark and deep elements with an affinity for modern techno. She loves making her sets as cohesive as possible, intertwining various genres by leaving no room for sudden transitions.
She has established her own Podcast Series called Into The Abyss.
