after studying visual arts, ailsa cavers 
aka islas slowly drifted towards a
growing interest in sound. islas
began crafting long, throbbing
sets that bring together delay
pedals, ASMR, spoken word,
movie scores, and ambient
sounds, playing with the
friction that exists when one
record meets another, with the
joy that erupts when sounds
come together to create the
previously unheard. having
participated in the creation of
belgian dance music label basic
moves, and recently co-founding
the PLANET collective, islas is
opening up her repertoire
to more dance-oriented sets,
all the while conserving a
passion for sampled and loopy
vocals, wonky percussion,
intoxicating breaks, and bird
sounds.
